About the Wikimedia+Libraries International Convention 2025

The second edition of the Wikimedia+Libraries International Convention 2025 will take place over three days, from 15 to 17 January 2025, in Mexico City – save the date!

Also known as WikiLibCon25, this gathering will bring together Wikimedians, Wikibrarians, information professionals, library workers and mission-aligned partners from around the globe. The convention aims to create a vivid community, and to promote cooperative projects in the Library & Wikimedia sphere.

The Wikimedia and Libraries User Group, in collaboration with other affiliated groups from the region, is in charge of organizing this exciting conference to be hosted at COLMEX.

Disinformation as a threat : The Wikimedia movement, often referred to as the Wikiverse, plays a crucial role in providing reliable information to a global audience. However, the threat of disinformation poses significant challenges to this mission.

This conference aims to explore the roles of librarians and information professionals as collaborators and knowledge service providers in mitigating disinformation within the Wikiverse.
