The Undying Sea

The ancient world of Harth withers beneath its dying sun… but it’s not dead yet. 

Although, parts of it are undead. Behold the Undying Sea, veiled in fog, choked with silt, haunted by wraiths, prowled by ghouls, sailed by pirates, invaded by crabs, and defended by witches…and you?

In The Undying Sea, players take on the roles of sea-faring adventurers sailing the misty currents on their siltcutter. As they discover new islands, they will encounter the conquering Tortuvan Empire, the mutant crab Brakken Hegemony, the undead Kadav Pirates, the mysterious Undine Coven, and a few stray Vampire Sybarites as well.

The farther they sail from home, the stranger and more perilous the islands become. Players can negotiate with foreign powers, become fearsome pirates, grow wealthy as traders, or pursue any other agenda they wish. They could even seek out the legendary White Vault to undo the necrotic curse that lays upon the sea, and restore it to a paradise!

SYSTEM

This is a “Mark of the Odd” game, using a rules-light design similar to Into the Odd and Cairn. It also uses a “depth crawl” system to generate new island locations similar to the procedures in The Stygian Library and The Gardens of Ynn.

This book is a self-contained RPG, and includes everything from character generation to lore, worldbuilding tools, quests and rumors, detailed locations, NPCs, treasures, and bestiaries. 

However, if you are already playing an Into the Odd or Cairn-like campaign, then you can also simply add the Undying Sea as a new adventuring region to your existing world using your current rules.
