      Aizu ni wa omoigakenu jinbutsu ni te aritari. Sono toki shōtei wa Tosa jin Kōsaka Ryūjirō to mōshite dekake, iroiro okashiki dan arishi ga, kawaritaru koto nashi.
      In Aizu the people are beyond belief. At that time, I went with a fellow called Kōsaka Ryujiro of Tosa, and although we engaged in various strange talks, nothing changed.
