Miles Gutierrez-Riley is an American actor who is best known for his roles as Ivan Taylor in Amazon's The Wilds, as well as Joshua in Smile 2 (2024), and Eddie in the MCU series Agatha All Along (2024).

Early life

Gutierrez-Riley graduated from Fordham University with a BA in Theatre Performance where he was the recipient of the Denzel Washington Scholarship.[1]

Career

Gutierrez-Riley made his debut in the second season of Amazon Prime’s hit series The Wilds, where he saw rave reviews for his performance as “Ivan.” Brian Tallerico, writing for RogerEbert.com, called Miles a “stand-out” amongst the large cast, and a "future star."[2] TV Guide praised his performance as "tremendous."[3]

In September 2022, Gutierrez-Riley starred in Paramount’s film adaptation of On The Come Up, based on the novel by Angie Thomas and set in the same universe as The Hate U Give. It premiered on the opening night of TIFF.[4]

In 2024 Gutierrez-Riley starred in Tommy Dorfman's directorial debut I Wish You All The Best as "Nathan," opposite Corey Fogelmanis. The film premiered at SXSW.[5]

He also starred in Smile 2 directed by Parker Finn, which debuted at #1 at the Box Office.[6]

He made his MCU debut in Agatha All Along as "Eddie" opposite Joe Locke, playing one of the first LGBTQ+ characters in the MCU.[7]

Gutierrez-Riley was named one of Essence’s 20 Young Black Hollywood Stars To Watch In 2022.[1]
