My RfA was successful, and closed with 44 Supports, 6 Opposes, and 1 Neutral. For your support, you have my thanks - I fully intend to live up to the lofty yet not-a-big-deal responsibility you have granted me. For those who opposed my candidacy, I value your input and advice, and hope that I may prove worthy of your trust. Special thanks to both Rudget and bibliomaniac15 for their expert coaching and guidance. I look forward to serving the project, my fellow editors, the pursuit of higher knowledge, et cetera, et cetera. Again, you have my thanks. Living notables

[edit]

Dear Bhadaniji

As teh msot prolific wikipedian from India,I ahave been asked to seek your advice.

I had rummaged through International Who's Who as it is in my library and identified 200 Indians who do not have an article.I always thought thsi volume being in 71st edition and widely available in all teh reference sections of all libraries is teh most authoratative source of living notables. But to my surprise an administrator rubbished it as vanity publication.I wonder what you feel!

Regards

Hi. I thank you for your message. I tried to locate the page which you are referring to, but could not find the same. Please give me the link to the page about which you are talking so that I may have a look. Regards. --Bhadani (talk) 03:01, 10 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Bhadaniji

Here is the message:

I've never seen any policy stating that inclusion in a International Who's Who book automatically confers notability (nor have I seen that book). I do know that a number of those volumes are nothing more than vanity publications. Best, IronGargoyle (talk) 18:58, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
