Vandalism

How do you revert a page, marking it as vandalism as you did on NASA's article with a wikilink to WP:VAND? Am I missing something? -Mike Payne 08:37, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

vandalism by reversion

I don't appreciate you vandalising using your anti-vandal powers. List of Battlestar Galactica (re-imagining) locations needed a title index at "B" which you reverted away, and you also deleted information that is correct. Perhaps you should not be part of the counter-vandalism unit. 70.55.84.223 05:43, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

"Upgraded" your warning to User:69.214.218.68

Hi, RazorICE. I took the liberty of erasing your warning (Test2) to 69.214.218.68--he had already had a Vandal3, so I erased your warning to give him Vandal 4. I do apologize for editing your comments on a talk page, but figured it was best to cut to the chase with that editor. Cheers. :D Justin Eiler 05:55, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

Does this guy accuse everyone he encounters of "nonsense" and "vandalism"?

I got the information about Caupolican being staked by colonizing spaniards while his wife had to watch, from the wikipedia article on ppl being staked to death. Excuse the ad hominem, but I hope that (Personal attack removed) such as "RazorICE" are not the backbone of wikipedia editing.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impalement : "The Araucanian chief Caupolican suffered this death as a prisoner during the Spaniard colonization in Chile. The method used was to make him sit on a stake while his wife was forced to watch." —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.69.14.35 (talk) 13:56, 27 February 2007 (UTC).

If you Google a little you will realise that the info is correct. I used Caupolican death impale stake and got pretty relevant results. Awyong J. M. Salleh 14:22, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
I replied here, sorry for the inconvenience. --RazorICEtalk 05:48, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for acknowledging the mistake and correcting it! Occasional mistakes are an inevitable result of vandal-fighting. If they are acknowledged and corrected then there'll be no problem. :) Awyong J. M. Salleh 05:47, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
Actually, I believe you corrected it before me, so thanks for that. :P --RazorICEtalk 05:48, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

Correcting incorrect changes and informing respective users about such things is really helpful for Wikipedia I'm sure. However, there is no need to blatantly accuse others of vandalism, when there is reasonable doubt that it may not have been. Your apology is happily accepted, but please try to ensure that blatant accusations are not made, again. Thank you:).

Admin Coaching

Hi, I found you on the Admin Coaching status page and, though I know you currently have a student, I was wondering if you'd like to have another? It's fine if you're too busy (being an admin and all), but from my quick glance through the list you seemed the most interesting. I don't know how the whole Admin coaching system works "officially," so I will await your reply. If you're not okay with having two students, then it's fine, I don't mind. Coaching can wait... maybe I can be placed in some sort of holding list? =P Thanks in advance! --RazorICE 14:12, 25 April 2007 (UTC)

Hi Razor!
Sure, I don't mind another student! My current coachee isn't very active on the coaching front right now. It would not be difficult, then, to take on another coachee. I prefer to keep things on a subpage, so they don't clutter talk space, and if you agree, you could create a subpage such as user:RazorICE/Admin coaching, and we could get started. Sound good?
As far as the coaching itself goes, it's just an informal way of helping an editor understand what chores and responsibilities an admin has, and how you might go about them. It's just intended as advice, suggestions, and ideas. Whenever you're ready, we'll get started! :) Firsfron of Ronchester 16:43, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
I've created the page. I'm on Wikipedia pretty much every day (at least once every two days) so I'll check in regularly. Thanks a lot! =D --RazorICE 03:38, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

Adoption?

Hello my name is Alex Hayes.

I'm interested in being wiki-adopted and saw your name on the adopters list. I wanted to know if you would like to help me out with getting to know Wikipedia? I have seen that you have already adopted one user but your status still says your ready to adopt more.

About me: I am 15 years old too and I share some common interests with you, mainly Science and Maths which is what I am currently studying. My intentions are to help out like a WikiGnome on Wikipedia sorting out bad spelling and vandalism.

Reply when you can, Alex Hayes 19:55, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your reply, I have decided to be wiki-adopted by you and have created the sub-page as you suggested. I hope to hear from you. Don't worry about not replying same/next day because I also have losts of work on at the moment too; I am currently in the middle of my GCSE examinations! Alex Hayes 16:03, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

Actor Photos

Hello. :) I have a question... Since we are not supposed to post pictures of a character the actor has played because those pictures are only supposed to be used to represent the character, what about the pictures of the actor on IMDB? They are not pictures of a character so there is no problem there, and the pictures on IMDB are publicity photos clearly meant to represent the actor, and it seems that just about any actor who would want their picture on IMDB would not have a problem with it being on wikipedia. Can't we just take an image from IMDB for an actor if they don't have one here? -Mike Payne 06:09, 10 June 2007 (UTC)

  • Welp... I gave it a shot. I downloaded the image from imdb and cropped it so I'm the one that created the image, regardless of the fact that I didn't take the photograph, so there's one issue taken care of. Check out Damian Lewis if you want to see what I did. Is there any way to reduce the size of an infobox image? It's looking horribly pixelated enlarged to the size it is now... -Mike Payne 11:41, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
    • Fixed it. :) -Mike Payne 11:57, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

new signature

I looked at your signature on my talk page and made and figured how to make a new one for myself. It does look pretty snazzy if I do say so myself. :P -Mike Payne (talk - contribs) 16:07, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

  • I stole the look a little bit from the {{unsigned}} template, but it looks good. :) -Mike Payne (talk - contribs) 16:08, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
    • Wow... And unrelated, I was just wishing there was a way to know all the subpages in my user namespace and I found it at the subpages link at the top of your user page. Awesome! -Mike Payne (talk - contribs)

Removing a section from the TOC

Is there a way to ensure that a certain section does not appear in the table of contents? On my talk page, I would like to do this with the "email" and "archives" sections, as I expect those to be there all the time. Do you know of a way to do that? -Mike Payne (talk - contribs) 20:39, 7 July 2007 (UTC)

Categories

Geez, now I feel like a tard since every entry on this page is from me, but 2 things... 1. How do you create a category? and 2. Do you know of any movies other than Collateral where Tom Cruise has played a villain? I think the fact that he's such a stereotype good guy makes him a very disarming villain, one very fun to watch. So, I'm wondering if there is a category with other movies like that, and if not I want to create one. :) Collateral may be the first and only entry for the time being, but the point is I am wondering how to create them. :) -Mike Payne (T • C) 03:27, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
