[edit]From Proto-Central Pacific *kono,[1] likely related to ʻona and māʻona from Proto-Nuclear Polynesian *kona₂ from Proto-Polynesian *maa-kona (compare with Maori mākona (“satisfied, content”))[2] (This etymology is missing or incomplete.
