- 1863, J. Pascoe, The Brigantine, page 263:

- Obsolete form of prizer.[1]

Etymology 2
[edit]Inherited from Late Latin pretiāre, pretiō (“to appraise”), from Latin pretium (“price”). Unrelated to pris, the past participle of prendre, although it might be remotivated in that way by contemporary French speakers.
