- (card games) diamonds (one of the four suits of playing cards, marked with the symbol ♦)
- kārava dūzis ― ace of diamonds
- Lūsis paņēma vēl vienu kārti: tā bija kārava dāma ― Lūsis took yet another card: it was the queen of diamonds
- kapteinis sāka dalīt kārtis, un Vilks izklaidīgi ņēma tās pretī... tur bija viens kalps un trīs dāmas: krusta, kārava un sirds ― the captain started dealing the cards, and Vilks absent-mindedly took them... there were three queens: clubs, diamonds, and hearts
