EXCLUSIVE: South Asian film star Taapsee Pannu has signed for representation with Crimson Media.
She becomes the latest Indian talent to sign with Crimson this year, coming after the likes of Farhan Akhtar, Sayani Gupta and Rajshri Deshpande.
Pannu, who works across Hindi, Telugu and Tamil film, is coming off 2023 hit Dunki, where she appeared opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Rajkumar Hirani’s feature about an illegal immigration technique called ‘donkey flight.’
In Tamil film, her notable roles gave come in the likes of 2011’s Aadukalam, comic horror Kanchana 2, tense action thriller Arrambam and thriller Game Over. In Telugu cinema, she first gained attention from her role in K Raghavendra Rao’s 2010 feature Jhummandi Naadam and romantic drama Mr. Perfect, which also starred Prabhas.
She began acting in Hindi films in 2013 in David Dhawan’s Chashme Baddoor, co-starring Siddharth, Rishi Kapoor, Divyendu Sharma and Ali Zafar, and in 2016 acted opposite Amitabh Bachchan in courtroom drama Pink. She also appeared in Anurag Kashyap’s rom-com, Manmarziyaan opposite hearthrob’s Abhishek Bachchan and Vicky Kaushal. The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2018.

Pannu went on to appear in a string of films such as Soorma, Badla and Saand Ki Aankh, and more recently starred in domestic abuse Thappad, Netflix’s Haasen Dillruba and Loop Lapeta — a remake of German experimental film Run Lola Run — and sports drama Rashmi Rocket. She reunited with Kashyap in sci-fi thriller Dobaaraa, which is based on Spanish film Mirage, and acted in starred in Mithu, based on the life of Indian Women’s national team captain Mithali Raj. The sequel to Haseen Dillruba, Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba, launched on Netflix over the weekend (August 9).
Pannu’s next film, Khel Khel Mein, is releasing tomorrow, with Akshay Kumar also starring. Female cop comedy Who Ladki Hai Kahaan will come out later this year.
