Dr. Geo ported to Cuis

The Dr. Geo interactive geometry application was ported to Cuis by its author Hilaire Fernandes. Today the first beta release of Dr. Geo based on Cuis was announced! Dr. Geo is now the most widely used application written in Cuis.

Unicode is now Default

Unicode is now enabled by default for all source code, text and text files in Cuis. Display of all text is done using TrueType fonts rasterized by our Vector Graphics engine.

Read the paper written by Juan and presented at the “FAST Workshop 2022 on Smalltalk Related Technologies”. It describes the approach used to support Unicode in Smalltalk source code and generally in Text objects. It also includes a review of pitfalls in the implementation of Unicode in other programming languages and the lessons learnt from them.
