We like talking about mail clients. Obviously. And maybe because we talk about this so often, we hadn't thought to put all our reasons WHY to use a mail client in one place. This would not only a handy refresher for current mail client users, but a great thing to send to people who could also benefit from a change from the webmail-dominated status quo. Comms and Community manager Natalie Ivanova, has put together this resource for us in our latest blog post. If you have convinced someone in your life to make the switch from webmail to a dedicated mail client (even if it's yourself!), we'd love to hear what helped them make that change! https://lnkd.in/emrJTvc8

Hey all! Monica from Team Thunderbird here, and I'm working on the next post in our productivity blog series. This one is all about the Add-ons that help you tackle all your to-dos, and so I'm asking our community: what Add-ons help you get everything done? Which ones would you recommend for us to highlight in our upcoming post? Thanks in advance, and hope you all are having a productive and happy Monday!

If we had to guess what sort of email people dislike sending, trying to find a meeting time is probably high on that list. It is a frustrating game of email tag where nobody wins. So we decided to do something. We'd like to formally introduce the closed beta for Appointment by Thunderbird. Simple, straightforward, sharing Thunderbird's core values. We've been trying Appointment with our friends, family, and Mozilla teammates, and now we're ready for you. Find out more, and learn how to join the waiting list, in our announcement post. #Thunderbird #OpenSource #Scheduling https://lnkd.in/gZvQJuTN

Support is one of the first interactions someone can have with open source software communities. It can also make a great first step on the path from user to contributor, but sometimes this leap can seem hard. In our latest Office Hours, we chat with Community Manager Wayne Mery, who demonstrates how to get started answering questions about Thunderbird on the Mozilla Support, aka SUMO page. From workflows to best practices, this chat is for anyone thinking of taking the next step in their open source journey - or anyone who wants to encourage their own project's community to do the same. https://lnkd.in/ds6P2eUz

When open source communities get together, as they do every year at GUADEC, they often find they face similar challenges. From Ryan Sipes' keynote to hallway track discussions, we want to share our experiences. Find a link to the entirety of Ryan's keynote, including a Q&A session you don't want to miss, and a recap of chats our team had at the conference about calendar collaboration, flatpaks, and telemetry in our latest blog post. #OpenSource #Community https://lnkd.in/g-m7Y7Sv
