Mickey Underhill had been a lone wolf for most of his young adult years. Partly because he and his friends drifted apart after high school, and partly because he was half wolf; from the father he never knew. Anyway, when he was nineteen, Mickey took on a summer job at a rehabilitation camp that focused on helping troubled teens get their lives back on track. He was assigned to the Yellow Cabin and received five boys to look after. By the end of the session, Mickey felt like he had become a second father to them. And just when it was all over, he found Kelly.
Kelly Harris was a bright, young Cocker Spaniel who loved the outdoors. She had been looking after the girls in Blue Cabin, and had bumped into Mickey by sheer chance. At first just stunned by each other's looks, Mickey and Kelly went out to dinner that night, and discovered that they both had a similar love of the outdoors. After that, there was no turning back. The pair would go on weekend camping trips in lieu of dates; and Mickey eventually convinced Kelly to come rambling with him.
Now here they are. Kelly and Mickey's latest trip has taken them to a pretty underwater cave. In nothing but their bathing suits, the Spaniel girl and the Wolf Dog boy stand on a rock behind the cascading water and embrace; knowing that they are meant to be together and will someday be married.
