Road House (2024)
One of the best movies of 2024
Were you ever a fan of the original roadhouse with Patrick Swayze, and how that movie was so kick ass that it was hard to fathom another one would come along.
Welcome to roadhouse 2024 with Jake Gyllenhaal. You will not be let down. This film has it all: lots of action, lots of blood, and most importantly Dalton. It just doesn't get any better.
Patrick Swayze was an amazing Dalton. The way he was hired was just out of control corny awesomeness. In this case, Dalton, Jake Gyllenhaal is hired under the same pretende; to rid a roadhouse of its bad clientele.
A break up performance is from one of the henchmen who describes Dalton a Mr. Rogers type. That guy is hilarious, and he adds to the fun and excitement.
I can't see any thing more better about this movie because it just takes all the boxes in so many ways. Don't waste your time watching other movies, go to Amazon Prime and stream this one today. A effing +.
Cocaine Bear (2023)
There's nothing like a bear doing blow.
Firstly, I was stoked to see this film. I saw an interview with Elizabeth Banks and she was talking about how this film came to be and I couldn't stop laughing. I mean, come on, a bear on Cocaine? It's brilliant.
I'm surprised this movie is a 5.1. Everyone who went to see this movie should have given it at least a 6.
This movie was really funny. There are moments that stand out above a lot of comedies. When the bear snorts a line of blow off of a dead body part.... that was Oscar worthy.
What are people expecting? Citizen Kane? I can't believe people are picking on this movie. I mean it's a ridiculous concept and if you're not into it then don't see it. But, I can tell you this; it's a great movie.
Jawan (2023)
One second of slow-mo every 10 seconds... ugh
This movie is virtually unwatchable. The editing is so jarring with a ton of short slo mo shots interspersed everywhere. Yikes.
It was a nonstop barrage of little slow motion shots. That's all I could think about when I was watching this movie is how horrible editing is I couldn't even concentrate on the violence or the acting. I mean this film was unwatchable from the beginning I'm not sure who is voting it the seven star is that it it's ranked. But there's no way that this type of editing should be allowed in any feature film other than a student film from college. In other words this movie blew chunks.
Nattvardsgästerna (1963)
My Favorite Film
This is my favorite film of all time. Ingmar Bergman is my favorite Director of all time. Sven Nykvist is my favorite cinematographer of all time. The film is a slow and boring Foreign Film which is my favorite type of film because it makes me seem to be more intelligent than I really am. It also makes me seen more cultured. It's having subtitles is a plus because not many like them. And, that is a big reason why I like subtitles in general.
Ok, I jest, but this film has it all. Deep commentary on humans, their flaws and their hypocrisy. The cinematography is out of this world, of course. Can't really say much more, but it ups your IQ score after watching it.
Last Call (2022)
Saw this at Hollyshorts Festival - BLOWN AWAY.
After attending the opening night of the Hollyshorts festival this short stood out. It's not often a short film can bring so much emotion to the table. But, this film did. It had all you want to see in a film. A normal beginning that mutated into something more esoteric, the film took a turn a couple times and a result it broke your heart not once, not twice, but three times. This is a lot or emotion squeezed into a short film, and I was HIGHLY impressed. This film was clearly a 10 star short film for the story, the actors, the direction, cinematography, the art direction, it ticked all the boxes you want to see in a film and it did it in a short amount of time. IMPRESSIVE.
John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023)
This movie was a lacuna of what could have been. I walked out of the movie after one hour.
Sure, I was pumped up to see this movie on opening day, but it did not end that way.
Nothing new came to the table. It took too long to get moving, and when it did, all the fight scenes kinda merged together and the absolute lack of plot took over. So, you end with hundreds of people fighting in one building. Nothing new and exciting. I should have just rewatched the older ones.
I like the 'kill as many villains as possible' genre, but for 20 minutes straight, a bunch of bad guys were all killed in the same fashion. The movie was loud for the sake of being loud. I would bring earplugs.
The acting does not really exist; The plot does not really exist. The movie became a lacuna of what it could have been. It's a grand stinker.
I walked out after one hour, picked up some disgusting Panda Express from the mall, and got home early.
The Night Comes for Us (2018)
Zero Plot - Awesome Movie
I was researching movies on the Internet that were similar to John Wick. I love the movies, where there is this one guy who is mysterious or whatever, and seems to be able to kick everyone's ass. Kind of like the way Rambo raised havoc in his movies/1st blood, this movie delivers in action. It also has a ton of blood and gore. I mean there's a lot of blood and gore and this is good because there's absolutely no plot.
I consider myself an intelligent person, but I can't even follow the plot point. I can't even tell who the good guys or the bad guys are, but there's so much over the top action that it doesn't matter matter. Violence is pretty funny and some situations but there's definitely no laughing in this movie.
This is the kind of movie you put on with a lot of people that are barely watching it. It becomes a piece of furniture; it's perfect. I'm always looking for movies that have an insane amount of action. This one has action, violence, and a plot that is missing in a big way, but don't let that dissuade you.
This is what movies are made for, to entertain. The one thing I wish it had was English dubbed audio. Every language has a dubbed version in this French, German, etc.... But no English it has subtitles... But it doesn't even matter because the subtitles don't make too much sense either. Watch this with a lot of homies.
Kate (2021)
Sure it's Got Some Action, But it is Just As Slow
The only thing worthwhile this film was the young girl playing the sidekick. Otherwise it was formulaic did not bring anything new to the table at all. It's not one of the worst but it's the worst thing I've seen this year.
It's just pretty unbelievable even though action films like this are unbelievable. But the fact that she was poisoned with radioactive materials. She doesn't really seem to decline that much because she's fighting pretty strong at the end when she should be on the ground a rotted mess.
I'm trying to come up with more words for this review, but there's really not much more. I can say other than I feel like I wasted my time watching it. I don't say that much but in this case I did but like I said, the young girl was good and funny, and the only thing worthwhile Woody Harrelson was very static in his character, didn't really change much at all, as well as the main character, pretty much static.
A Shock to the System (1990)
This film is in my top ten list easily.. it's hilarious!
Michael Caine... his best performance ever. This film rules. This movie has it all. A likable villain - check. Hot leading woman - check. Caine is one of my favorite actors and he delivers big. Take my word for it. It rules. If you watch it you will become a huge fan.
The whole premise is brilliant. A crazy corporate ladder jumper turns into likable psychopath. They do not make them like this anymore. Shot in 1989 and released in 1990, this film has all the 80s in it you will ever need. Right down to the cheesy synth 80s background tracks that make films like this an amazing experience.
Go to BLOCKBUSTER now and rent it!!!!
Step Brothers (2008)
I really enjoyed this film
Sure, it's funny and makes you laugh, but Adam Scott's small role was off the hook funny! I pretty much forgot a lot about this movie except for the scene with Adam Scott. This is worth a watch.
Val (2021)
Best Film of 2021 - no joke.
I know it takes a lot of talent to act at his level, but I had no idea how offing brilliant he is and was.
Val Kilmer is s brilliant, brilliant, man, and this is a brilliant, brilliant film.
A+++++++
Mulligan's Stew (1977)
The Photo Used for this Show is Wrong
The photo posted is for the show MULLIGAN STEW, not MULLIGAN'S STEW. It is a food health oriented comicbook from the other show. Completely unrelated.
Profit (1996)
This show was EFFING great!
I still feel sad thinking about how my favorite tv show got the shaft so soon. Any show where the main character sleeps in a cardboard box should get an Emmy immediately.
The Gentlemen (2019)
Flat Out Fun and Great Movie
This movie was fun, intelligent, with great direction, acting, cinematography, plot...etc. It's hard to find movies like this in the cesspool that they call Hollywood. This movie had it all. It feels like Pulp Fiction type movie, but it's smarter. Loved it.
Four Lions (2010)
If the first 10min of a movie blows chunks....
Then the rest of the movie will blow chunks. I found nothing funny about it or anything interesting. The first 10min blew chunks.3
It had two extremely obnoxious zoom lens shots that stretched too long and did not support the story. I can just imagine a movie full of filler. Not my cup of tea.
The Poseidon Adventure (1972)
If you have not seen this ... where have you been?
With a powerhouse of Actors, Winters, Borgnine, McDowell and others, P Adventure does not disappoint. This film is a lot fun, and you will fall in love with Shelley Winter's, one of the most powerful actors in the 20th century. This movie is a MUST SEE. It's a timeless classic. 100 Stars
Good Time (2017)
I enjoyed it but...
I liked this movie, but think the focus should have been on Nick, the disabled brother. I was instantaneously sucked into the story with the opening scene. I felt his character was very true and I felt a lot of sympathy for him.
But, the movie changed its tone when the older brother took the focus.
The movie had everything going for it before it turned into a quasi After Hours.
But, the movie was a lot of fun.
Annihilation (2018)
Wow. Not much here.
The movie put me to sleep. I woke up the next day to finish it and my brain went numb.
I still do not know what the point of this movie is, and how it can be considered a 10/10 review on this site by anyone.
There are MANY other films I recommend instead like "Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo". It makes more sense.
The Last Dance (2020)
I thought I hated basketball...
But, I guess I was wrong. This sports doc had me hooked within the first 30 seconds. If you do not get goosebumps at least three times during the first episode, there's something seriously wrong with you. This is an amazing story done impeccably.
The Contender (2000)
Wow, I had no idea... the was a grest show!!
This was one helluva movie. I thought it was gonna be formulaic based on the plot, but I was totally wrong. I loved it.
Walkabout (1971)
Very Slow Fastforwarded Thru it
The color pops in the footage. The story does not make too much sense as I believe you have to have read the book to figure out the plot points.
This film was god awful slow moving.... I did not really enjoy it except for the nudity. And, I think that is what the director was focusing on anyway.
I like slow Ingmar Bergman films... but this film was a major blaaahhhh.
White Tide: The Legend of Culebra (2018)
Lame
I'm not giving this a bad review just to trash the movie and make myself feel superior. This story was just so drawn out- I don't even know why I kept watching it. But halfway into it, I kept skipping forward, and skipping forward and skipping forward. And, finally, it ended thank God.
This film was literally a waste of time. I have no idea why people are gave this 10 stars- citizen Kane gets 10 stars, Acadeny award winning films get 10 stars. This was a stinker.
.
MacGruber (2010)
What can I say? It's the best movie I've ever seen. Period.
A villain falls off and cliff and goes splat. What would you do? Would you pull down your pants and urinating on top of it? Comedic Genius.
The rudeness and crudeness of this movie are on the level of a Shakespearian play.
Funny cannot get more funny than this film For the win!
Hot Moves (1984)
"The" Best Teenage Romp of the 80s
This movie has it all. Hot babes without boob implants, Break dancers, BMX riders, skaters, plus Venice Boardwalk in the 80s!! Lotsa good shots of Hollywood Blvd star walk.
There's even a Luigi's Italian Ice sign.... gosh I loved that place. Sadly, it closed 20 years later.
The 15 minuted of awesome filler footage is an 80s time capsule of Venice Beach that is worth it alone. But, the hot naked chicks are WAY HOT!!

PS. Raven (the band) wrote the title song and a couple others. Those songs are effing awesome!!!
Better Call Saul (2015)
It's got Gus the chicken man in it. 'Nuff said.
This show is great, but what makes it even better is that Gus Fring the head of the fast food chicken chain takes a more prominent role.
Come on folks for that reason alone, this show is awesome... Everybody loved Gus from Breaking Bad, right???!!!???
