The notoriously high levels of traffic on Oahu made logistics for production very difficult. Transporting equipment, cast, and crew was often handled between 1-5 AM to avoid gridlock and difficult conditions traversing the crowded island.

Legendary Hawaiian Waterman and stuntman coordinator, Brian Keaulana, serves as producer on the series.
During filming, actual Lifeguards were on standby to ensure the safety of cast and crew when near the ocean. This proved to be beneficial when they assisted in real life rescues near the set.
Before his sudden passing, professional surfer, Tamayo Perry, can be seen as a featured background extra with the other lifeguards, most noticeably at Lifeguard Headquarters.
