The official website of The Apothecary Diaries announced that the second season of the anime will start airing on Jan 10, 2025, and will run for two consecutive cours.

Accompanying the announcement is a Pv and key visual.

The season will be directed by Akinori Fudesaka, who had served as an assistant director for the first season of the anime. Norihiro Naganuma is in charge of series composition.

The Apothecary Diaries season 1 aired from Oct 22, 2023, to March 24, 2024.

The anime is produced by Toho Animation Studio and Olm. Norihiro Naganuma directed the first season and supervised the scripts, and Akinori Fudesaka served as assistant director. Yukiko Nakatani designed the characters, and Satoru Kōsaki, Kevin Penkin, and Alisa Okehazama composed the music.

The official X account of The Apothecary Diaries announced on Sep 18, 2024, that the series has reached a major milestone, with its total circulation now surpassing 38 million copies.

This figure includes the light novel and the two manga adaptations.

The boost in sales is largely attributed to the success of the anime adaptation.

Ahead of the first season’s broadcast, which began in September 2023, the total circulation was reported at 24 million copies. Following the anime’s debut, the series saw a swift increase, reaching 27 million copies just one month later. By the end of the first season, the circulation had climbed to over 33 million copies.

The momentum has continued, with total circulation now reaching 38 million copies as of September 2024.

Season 1 of the anime adaptation produced by Toho Animation Studio and Olm aired from October 2023 to March 2024. A second season is set to premiere in 2025.

This was revealed in a statement released on her official X account on Sep 9, 2024, following the recent court ruling concerning her tax evasion case.

In the statement, Nekokurage acknowledged the gravity of her tax issues and announced that she is now receiving guidance from a trusted tax accountant.

She also expressed deep regret for the situation and pledged to avoid such issues.

“I sincerely apologize for the trouble caused regarding my tax matters. I deeply regret the verdict I received in court recently, and I am now receiving support from a trusted tax accountant. I pledge that I will never let something like this happen again.”
