Today January 6, the maverick composer A R Rahman, the repository of raga renown, turns 48.
Interestingly, Rahman's son shares his father's birth date.
A few years ago on his birthday Rahman had revealed, "My son and I share the same birthday. ...I don't know how that happened."
Rahman said he relived his childhood through his son Ameen. "So far I've just been busy living life. From my childhood I was surrounded by grownups, I never got a chance to enjoy being a child. It took me a while to realize how young I was. By the time I realized I was missing out on youthful activities I was no longer young. Now I'm re-living my childhood with three children. If I'm able to give them everything that I couldn't afford they too are giving me back something vital."
And what sense has he made of his life? "My life has always been a journey.

New Delhi, Sep 30: Be it the city of Prague or the beauty of a Fijian island, the new films that released over the weekend failed to pull audiences into the theatres. Going by the performance of "Prague", "Super Model", "Warning" and "Maazii" so far, experts are doubtful about their survival.
"Opening of all the movies has been very poor. I don't know if they will be able to survive the week or not," trade analyst Vinod Mirani told Ians.
Anubhav Sinha's "Warning", which has been labelled as a survival film has reportedly collected Rs. 3 crore in three days. Executive producer Ishaan Gupta had mentioned that it's a medium budget film.
Rohit Khaitan's "Prague" was made on an approximate budget of Rs.6 to Rs.6.5 crore.

It's easy to expel experimental cinema from the orbit of our experience. Label it incomprehensible and bury it...But wait. Hang on. There is life beyond mass entertainment. It is not about grand masti alone. There are the dark unexplored regions of the psyche that cinema must reify even if it means taking into confidence an audience that doesn't want to think while watching a film.
"Prague" engages the sense in the polemics of the unexplored. It takes us into a world of despair and anxiety, not caring.

New Delhi, Sep 2: Rohit Khaitan's "Prague", starring Chandan Roy Sanyal and Elena Kazan, was due for release Friday, but its release has been pushed to Sep 27 on the behest of its distributor Anil Aggarwal.
Aggarwal liked the film a lot, and did not feel it was appropriate to release the movie on a date when biggies like "Zanjeer" and "Shuddh Desi Romance" are due to open in theatres.
He is said to have messaged Khaitan urging him to rethink the release date of "Prague".
"Saw your movie 'Prague' last night. Was a great experience. The genre was totally different, so we advise you to shift the date of this film.

Censor Board has taken a strict action against the upcoming Chandan Roy Sanyal starrer Prague where he plays an architect. The Cbfc has asked the makers to alter some explicit scenes which apparently include nude cabaret dancers, oral sex and abusive language. Hence, the release date of the film has been postponed to a later date in August. The makers have also been asked to change the lyrics of a song 'Botal Khol' along with a striptease club scene. However, Chandan believes that the stripping scene which was shot in a real strip club in Prague was meant to be realistic and hence was shot in an original location where women actually stripped off their clothes and posed naked for the camera. Prague is produced by Rohit Khaitan and directed by Ashish Shukla. The other cast of the film include Elena Kazan, Arfi Lamba, Mayank Kumar and Sonia Bindra.
