It was sallow. The end specifically was bad ,very bad.

A supposedly &quot;tender&quot; film, &quot;The tango of Christmas&quot; is a tale about &quot;love&quot; in a gloomy place during a dark era of the recent Greek history. However, without the adequate emotional depth to support the story, the film ends up like a caricature of a true love story. The characters have not been &quot;carved&quot; enough to provide a convincing background to what happens in the film. A &quot;strict&quot; Colonel who is nothing else but strict, a &quot;fragile&quot; Colonel&#39;s wife who only needs love, a Lieutenant who is in love with the Colonel&#39;s wife in a ridiculously primitive way and a soldier who is in love with the Lieutenant. Nothing more. Meanwhile, the Colonel &quot;struggles&quot; for a good transfer to the Capital (Athens), his wife sleeps all day, the Lieutenant learns how to dance and the soldier does not know exactly what he wants to do: To go back home to see his dying mother, or to stay at the camp to have another dance with the Lieutenant? He finally catches a cold, but a very serious one! What is even more disappointing, although shamelessly used in the title of the film to attract the Season&#39;s viewers, Christmas means nothing to any of the heroes of the film. Consequently, the film should better be &quot;The tango of Carnival&quot; or even &quot;The tango of the High School Graduates&#39; Ball&quot;, which would certainly fit better with the totally naive concept of the film.
