Exclusive: The venerable Power Rangers TV series is on the move. Netflix will be the exclusive U.S. home for the upcoming second season of Power Rangers Dino Fury — Power Rangers‘ 29th season overall — which will debut on the streamer in spring 2022. Netflix has licensed the series from Entertainment One and Hasbro.
Power Rangers, based on the Japanese tokusatsu franchise Super Sentai, has only had a handful of U.S. TV homes since its 1993 launch by Saban Entertainment. It started on Fox Kids, transitioning to ABC/Disney following the company’s acquisition of Fox Family and moving to Nickelodeon in 2011 where it had been since.
Power Rangers Dino Fury already is available on Netflix — Season 1 of the show has been streaming on the platform following the episodes’ premiere on Nickelodeon in a second window deal.
Additionally, the franchise’s library was on Netflix for years until most of it left the streamer in February.

“No Time To Die” kept its place at the top of the South Korean box office for the second weekend. But, with no significant new releases competing against the James Bond title, it was a hollow victory.
The Universal-released “No Time To Die” earned $1.83 million in Korea on its second weekend of release, according to data from Kobis, the Korean Film Council-backed tracking service. That gave it an $8.01 million total after 12 days in theaters.
The score represents a 44% drop compared with the film’s opening weekend. And it accounted for a hefty 49% of nationwide total box office.
But the lack of new releases and the predictable erosion of Bond’s performance meant that cinemagoing in Korea resumed its recent weakness. Theaters in Korea enjoyed gross revenues of just $3.73 million between Friday and Sunday, down from $5.22 million on the prior weekend which was goosed by the arrival of “No Time to Die.

Local thriller “On The Line” held on to top spot at the South Korean box office charts. But its weak total showed that the boost to cinemas from the Chuseok holidays had been short-lived.
“On the Line” managed $1.56 million in its second weekend, a score which was only 28% down on its debut, according to data from Kobis, the box office tracking service provided by the Korean Film Council (Kofic). That gave it a 39% share of the weekend total, ahead of “Miracle: Letters to the President” with $647,000 and a 16% share, and “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” with $529,000 and a 13% share.
The day-by-day figures reveal that “On The Line” enjoyed two days with $1 million takings, on Tuesday and Wednesday, at the height of the holiday. But, with many people returning to work later in the week, the film’s Thursday and Friday scores were down to just $317,000 and $330,000 respectively.

New titles arrived in Korean theaters in time for the Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving) holiday period, headed by locally-made thriller “On The Line,” which took top place from “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.” But box office over the weekend preceding the big break remained subdued, totaling just $6.16 million.
“On The Line” earned $2.16 million from 1,294 screens between Friday and Sunday and accounted for 35.1% of nationwide box office, according to data from the Korean Film Council’s Kobis tracking service. Over the five days since its Wednesday release, it has built up a total of $2.94 million.
“Shang-Chi” took $1.11 million in its third week of release, for a total of $12.4 million since its Sept. 1 outing.
“Miracle: Letters to the President,” a heart-warming drama, earned $991,000 for third place between Friday and Sunday. Since Wednesday, it has accumulated $1.46 million. It played on 1,196 screens and its per screen average over the weekend was barely...

“Free Guy” retained its lead of the China box office for the third weekend in a row, and has now surpassed “Tenet” in local sales.
It brought in $12.4 million on a rare weekend with three non-Chinese language titles in the top five, according to Maoyan figures.
China’s box office has been dismal all summer and the slump continued this week with, once again, only five films that made over $1 million. Nevertheless, authorities have chosen to keep out top Hollywood moneymakers like “Shang-Chi” and let major blockbusters like “Dune” and “No Time to Die” languish in limbo without release dates.
“Free Guy” was one of the rare summer movies that released only in theaters stateside, where it has just surpassed the $100 million mark. In China, its cume is now up to $76.5 million, according to Maoyan. China sales for “Free Guy” generated $1.7 million in box office receipts for Imax, bringing the...
