The plot is inspired by a true story which unfolded in 2012, where 18 members of the anti-criminality brigade were arrested for organized drug traffic and extortion, with 7 going straight to jail before trial. It was a big scandal which made the headlines at the time, and even resulted in the Prime Minister disbanding the unit.
The movie was supposed to shoot in the Castellanes neighborhood of Marseille, but to avoid bad publicity for the projects, it was moved outside Marseille.
The main characters appear to be armed with SigSauer SP2022 pistols, which is correct for law enforcement in France.
Director Cédric Jimenez teams up again with actor Gilles Lellouche after La French (2014) and Trái Tim Sắt Lạnh (2017).
François Civil looks like a musketeer. He will later play one in Les trois mousquetaires: D'Artagnan (2023).
