This episode is the only episode in which we see John going on a rescue. He admits that he has been on just a dozen or so rescue missions, while Scott says he has been out on every single one. Therefore, unless Scott is forgetting that he didn't take an active part in the rescue in "The Perils of Penelope", the events of this episode should take place before those of both "The Perils of Penelope" and "Atlantic Inferno".

Sea vegetables (which is the new name for kelp, algae, etc) are now commonly found in pet food preparations, and are praised for their healthy benefits to pets. Humans, too, have embraced the oceanic products and consume them as everything from a snack to part of main dishes, or even desserts.
Another glimpse of the faithful Parker's naughty side here. He seems to enjoy a good, er, tipple.
Scott is shown smoking in the final scenes, so he and Virgil are now known to be smokers, as is Mr. Tracy.
