Dino-Riders may well have gone on for several more seasons had executives not pushed to change the shows tone and direction completely in the second season by changing it from Dinosaurs to prehistoric animals set in snowy climates. The second season was considered a ratings disaster and the toy line it focused on for the ice age theme sold miserably. The studio decided to sell season 2 as a spin off series instead, prepping to bring a season 2 to the original Dinoriders series, but decided to scrap the show and move on to developing other things.

The Diplodocus is actually depicted incorrectly. At the time of the show paleontologists did believe the diplodocus' neck stood upright. However after re-examination during the 1990's it was discovered some of the neck bones where peiced together incorrectly on the diplodocus skeletons... Correcting the bones meant the diplodocus neck actually stuck out straight inline with spine and was a dinosaur that would not be able to stick it's neck up like similar species of Bracheosaurous etc.
