It’s no secret that Hollywood marriages tend to fail more times than not, and Salma Hayek weighs in on how to build a healthy union in her July 2016 cover story for Red magazine.
The “From Dusk Til Dawn” dame puts it bluntly- "Sex is not the key to a happy marriage, but it's a side effect. Although not every day! If it's every day then it loses its charm. It's so important to maintain your chemistry. You have to continue to laugh, continue to explore, continue to have fun with each other, continue to have romance. A good marriage, full of love, is my biggest accomplishment. Home is where my husband is. He is home. Everything outside of the family nucleus is an adventure that you're living together."
Hayek adds, "Even though I struggle every moment with my own judgment of my body, I'm in touch with myself. I...

Film Movement brings Eric Rohmer’s classic period film The Marquise of O… to Blu-ray, the first time the title is made available in the Us (previously, it was sandwiched into a Region 2 Rohmer collection, the same set which features another rare title, 1982’s A Good Marriage). Awarded the Grand Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival (it tied with Carlos Saura’s Cria Cuervos), it would be the only accolade the famed filmmaker would collect from the event and it was his last time in competition.

Music video director Dori Oskowitz is adding more “family” members to the American remake of Eric Rohmer’s Le Beau Mariage. Joining the already cast Jenna Malone and Alex Karpovsky in what looks to be a triage/third wheel type of dramedy, THR reports that Hope Davis has been added to the cast in a supporting role. Claire is the Oskowitz’s directorial debut.
Gist: Written by Juan Iglesias and Jonathan Saba, this centers on an eccentric twentysomething woman living in Long Island with her aunt and teenage cousin. Fed up with her married lover, a painter named Simon, Claire (Malone) decides to get married herself, deciding upon a man she barely knows (Karpovsky), her best friend Katherine’s cousin (Davis). An absurd and humiliating quest to find love and a husband, but not necessarily in that order, follows.
Worth Noting: Saba is Vice President of Marketing for Saban Films.

Beloved French filmmaker Eric Rohmer's work has already seen an interesting interpretation in Hollywood — Chris Rock remade "Love In The Afternoon" with "I Think I Love My Wife." Now a decidedly more indie production is borrowing the pages of Rohmer, and, featuring two pretty great actors, it has our attention. Read More: Jena Malone To Star In 'Le Beau Mariage' Redo Alex Karpovsky joins the previously cast Jena Malone in "Claire," a redo of the 1982 film "Le Beau Mariage." The story follows a young woman who decides to dump her married lover and get married herself, to her best friend's cousin. Zany! Of course, Rohmer himself had a deft and original hand at these kinds of scenarios, so it'll be interesting to see how the screenwriters Juan Iglesias and Jonathan Saba tackle the material. Meanwhile, behind the camera will be music video director Dori Oskowitz, who will make his feature debut.

Wow! This is one of the lightest weeks in recent memory for horror title releases on DVD and Blu-ray. But that's fine because after the rush in October, we are still trying to catch up on watching all of those flicks.
This week we have the very controversial and disturbing Antichrist from Lars von Trier, which spawned a Nsfw Motion Picture Purgatory from Rick Trembles. Stephen King's new novel and Call of Duty's new edition, Black Ops (with Zombie mode), also drop, and Steve Austin joins the fray along with Tremors' inevitable Blu-ray release.

In this era of the Kindle and similar devices, it'll be interesting to see how the audio book fares, but considering the talent that's signed on to narrate Stephen King's upcoming Full Dark, No Stars, odds are it's here to stay. Who are we talking about? Read on for the details.
According to the home of all things King related, Lilja's Library, Simon & Schuster has announced the narrators for the audio edition of Full Dark, No Stars are Craig Wasson (A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors), who was also the narrator of King's Blockade Billy, and Jessica Hecht (soon to appear in Wes Craven's My Soul to Take).
You can pre-order Full Dark, No Stars from the EvilShop below, and as a reminder, here are the four stories contained in the book, which is being released November 9th. A portion of an excerpt from "A Good Marriage" follows the synopses.

Just like movies that have different posters for different countries, most books also have different covers, and today we have a look at the UK artwork for Stephen King's upcoming collection of four novellas entitled Full Dark, No Stars.
The art comes courtesy of Play.com (with a thanks to the always on top of things Lilja's Library for the heads-up), who also have a slightly different synopsis for the book, which comes out in both the Us and the UK on November 9th:
'I believe there is another man inside every man, a stranger...' writes Wilfred Leland James in the early pages of the riveting confession that makes up "1922", the first in this pitch-black quartet of mesmerising tales from Stephen King, linked by the theme of retribution. For James, that stranger is awakened when his wife Arlette proposes selling off the family homestead and moving to Omaha,...

For a guy who supposedly retired back in 2002, Stephen King sure does have a full plate! Not only has he revealed the four story titles and plot synopses for his upcoming collection of novellas entitled Full Dark, No Stars, but he's also got a brand new novella that practically nobody's even heard of yet coming out April 20th!
Per usual, StephenKing.com provided the skinny on both projects. On April 20th Cemetary Dance Publications will release Blockade Billy, and if you order it from their site, for a limited time only you'll receive an authentic Blockade Billy Baseball Card with your order. Here's the synopsis:
Even the most diehard baseball fans don't know the true story of William "Blockade Billy" Blakely. He may have been the greatest player the game has ever seen, but today no one remembers his name. He was the first — and only — player to have his...

He made poignant, sensual films about first love and chance encounters. But it was the dialogue that made the late Eric Rohmer's movies magical, says Gilbert Adair
Who says that the cinema is not in a state of terminal infantilism? Consider the case of the French filmmaker Eric Rohmer, who died on Monday at the age of 89. It's a sobering thought that My Night With Maud, the work that established his international reputation all of 40 years ago – a cerebral comedy about a pious young Catholic intellectual and a flirtatious, free-thinking bourgeoise, who spend an unconsummated night together mostly discussing Pascalian theology – was a huge popular hit in its day, and not only in France. Nowadays, if My Night With Maud were made at all, it would almost certainly be marginalised, by critics and public alike, as an avant-gardist, even downright experimental, film, with an audience to match.
During those intervening four decades,...

Idiosyncratic French film-maker who was a leading figure in the cinema of the postwar new wave
In Arthur Penn's intelligently unconventional private eye thriller Night Moves (1975), Gene Hackman's hero – who finds the mystery he faces as unfathomable as his personal relationships – is asked by his wife whether he wants to go to an Eric Rohmer movie. "I don't think so," he says. "I saw a Rohmer film once. It was kind of like watching paint dry."
Behind that exchange lies a jab at Hollywood's mistrust of any film-maker, especially a French one, who neglects plot and action in favour of cerebral exploration, metaphysical conceit and moral nuance. The Dream Factory, after all, had proved through trial and error that cinema is cinema, literature is literature, and the twain shall meet only provided the images rule, not the words.
Of the major American film-makers, perhaps only Joseph Mankiewicz allowed his scripts,...
