Spanning two series and a pilot episode, Maggie and her tells the story of two neighbours, who are there for one another, regardless. It's a fine series, the two leads are terrific, McKenzie is fun as Maggie, a teacher desperate for love, and Mrs P, her nosy, well meaning neighbour, with a talent for mispronunciations.
The pair have a terrific chemistry on screen, you get the impression they really enjoyed working with one another.
People joke about Dennis Waterman singing the theme tune, he had nothing on McKenzie, who sang this one, Beryl Marston etc.
Lots of funny episodes, my personal favourite is You make me feel so young, which features a really great performance from Joss Ackland. Plenty of fun characters, among the best is Carol Gillies, who plays Maggie's Headmistress in the first series, she's replaced by Carmen Silvera for the second.
Two series was enough, they had a good run. 8/10
