A General Practitioner named Enrique Varela , Jose Luis Lopez Vazquez, adviced by his aunt, Margot Cottens, goes to Madrid to work as a Doctor Puericultor . There Enrique gets together a private detective, Juanjo Menendez . Later on, the doctor is called by a beautiful woman, Mara Cruz, and he meets her deceased husband, Antonio Pica. After that, the doctor and the private eye go to Torremolinos and they see the allegedly widow and her hubby is alive. Then, they investigate at whatever means, even riding by donkeys and become involved into a great number of non-sense happenings and plot twists.
Amusing but mediocre comedy with a twisted intrigue about a pair of botcher friends who undertake a complex investigation to solve killings . Duo of funny protagonists, Jose Luis Lopez Vazquez, Juanjo Menendez give sympathetic interpretations. Fun support cast is frankly well, plenty of familiar faces with lot of beautiful actresses as Teresa Gimpera, Mara Cruz, Mary Francis or Paca Gabaldon, Rosanna Yanni . And several secondary actors in brief roles as Antonio Pica, Beni Deus, Luis Morris, Jesus Guzman, Erasmo Pascual, Luis Barboo, Jose Riesgo, Xan Das Bolas and actresses as Margot Cottens , Julia Caba Alba.
It contains a colorful and evocative cinematography in Eastmancolor by Miguel Fernandez Mila, being shot in Madrid and Torremolinos, Marbella, Andalucia . As well as a catching musical score by Jose Torregrosa, including diverting songs, as Cuidado con las señoras performed by the band Los Gritos and composed by Augusto Alguero . The motion picture written by Federico de Urrutia and Manuel Sebares, was regularly directed Julio Buchs. Julio was a fine artisan who wrote and directed some thrillers, comedies and Westerns until his early death at forty six years old. As he directed thrillers as Alta tension, El salario del crimen. Dramas as Encrucijada para una monja, Trompetas del Apocalipsis. Paella westerns as Mestizo, Los desesperados, El hombre que mato Billy the Kid. And comedies as El apartamento de la tentacion, Una señora llamada Andres and Cuidado con las señoras .Rating 4 out of 10. Regular Spanish comedy with no much sense.
