[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Season 1, Episode 4 of The Time Traveler’s Wife.] In the latest chapter of HBO‘s adaptation of The Time Traveler’s Wife, things are getting wacky for Clare’s (Rose Leslie) friends Gomez (Desmin Borges) and Charisse (Natasha Lopez) when she invites her time-traversing love, Henry (Theo James), to dinner. Along with being Clare’s closest confidantes, Gomez and Charisse play a more significant role in her life than just friends as the series explores a deeper connection between her and each of these individuals. In the two years since Clare last saw Henry in the meadow on her 18th birthday, she dipped her toes in other pools, as the episode reveals intimate moments she shared with Gomez and Charisse. It’s an intriguing layer to explore considering Gomez and Charisse’s own relationship as a committed couple and their view of Clare’s mysterious lover who brings some chaos to their loft.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Season 1, Episode 2 of The Time Traveler’s Wife.] The Time Traveler’s Wife may be about Henry (Theo James) and Clare’s (Rose Leslie) love story, but the HBO show’s latest installment put a spotlight on his past in an emotional entry. Written by a Scot, adapted from an American novel, with a US director and two Brits playing Americans in the lead roles, HBO and Sky Atlantic co-production The Time Traveler’s Wife could scarcely be more transatlantic. The six-part time-travel rom-com, written by Steven Moffat based on Audrey Niffenegger’s hit 2003 book, is the story of Henry DeTamble, a Chicago librarian with a fantasy genetic condition that causes him to unexpectedly drop out and into his timeline, disappearing and reappearing in inconvenient times, places and states of undress. Played by Theo James, Henry is the titular time traveller, while his titular wife is Claire Abshire, played here by Rose Leslie (and by Rachel McAdams in the earlier movie.) Here’s where you’ll have seen James and Leslie before.

The Time Traveler’s Wife Episode 1 Review
The Time Traveler’s Wife, HBO’s new miniseries adaptation based on Audrey Niffenegger’s novel of the same name, is taking full advantage of the extended time serialized television offers in regards to telling a story involving multiple timelines. The opening episode assumes viewers have not read the novel or seen the previous movie adaptation, but it makes the jumps in time easier to follow if you have the background of either or both. This miniseries is not for people who have already made their mind up to hate the premise but it’s for the readers of the novel who wanted more character development from the movie.
Henry DeTamble (Theo James) is the time traveler in the title. His powers of time travel are limited to his actual lifespan, give or take a few years.

Colombian-Canadian director Lina Rodríguez’s third feature, “My Two Voices”, a 68 min documentary that through its short runtime artfully orchestrates a polyphony of emotions, colors, textures and voices in its portrayal of three immigrant women.
Produced by Canada’s Rayon Verde, the same production company behind her previous film “This Time Tomorrow,” Rodríguez’s meticulous approach interweaves the voices of Claudia Montoya, Marinela Piedrahita and Ana Garay Kostic as they share their experiences of immigrating to Canada. Energized by a rich soundscape, the film achieves a deep intimacy, while refusing to draw borders, between spaces, between voices, between there and here, who I was and who I am, between I and Us.
Rodríguez is currently finishing her latest film “So Much Tenderness”.
Variety talked with her as her documentary debuted in Berlinale.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from half-a century or more of watching Hollywood films, it’s this; the distant future is no place in time I wish to visit. This pandemic of 2020-2021 aside, the future Tinsel Town promises is made up of things far worse: robots gone crazy, desolate landscapes, warring hordes of mutants and an assortment of post-nuclear zombies running amuck. And that’s not to mention, of course, the bland and unfashionable unisex leotards we’ll all be expected to wear as uniforms. So I stand firm in this conviction and, truth be told, Ib Melchior’s The Time Travelers (American International Pictures, 1964) does little to convince me that I’m wrong.

Ib Melchior’s best-directed movie is a futuristic space opera with a time travel theme, all done at a production level suitable for a Halloween fun house. Yet its talented crew comes up with exciting visuals to match Melchior’s flaky-but-fun eclecticism: Androids, Mutants, ‘deviants,’ hydroponic gardens, force fields, time warps… and a sexist attitude or two to remind us that we’re seeing 2071 through the eyes of 1964. And it’s one of the earliest Hollywood credits for cameramen Vilmos Zsigmond and Laszlo Kovacs.

Walter Murphy’s “A Fifth of Beethoven,” the disco-fied 1976 reinvention of the composer’s most famous symphony, seems like an unusual choice for the theme of “Mrs. America,” FX’s Cate Blanchett-starring series on the history of the 1970s women’s movement as seen from the perspective of its fervent opponent, arch-conservative Phyllis Schlafly. The song dates from late in the show’s chronology, its glitzy groove seems at odds with many of the characters, and most of all, it’s an instrumental.
But for the show’s music supervisor, Mary Ramos — who has worked on dozens of films and television shows, most prominently on several Quentin Tarantino films, including last year’s Oscar-winning “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” as well as Hulu’s “Little Fires Everywhere” — it’s a perfect choice.

The matriarchal psychodramas of the ’60s bled into the ’70s with alliteration-laden (and questioning) efforts such as Whoever Slew Auntie Roo?, What’s the Matter With Helen?, and the sole directorial effort from noted horror author John Farris, Dear Dead Delilah (1972). There are only four episodes left of How I Met Your Mother, which puts us right into "stick the landing" territory. And last night's episode, "Vesuvius," seemed to fall in line with the theory that the Mother is dead and Ted is recounting all of this as a widower. I buy that theory for a number of reasons, though Himym has long enjoyed misdirection — let's give the Dead Mom Theory a strong maybe. And let's also be clear: If the mother dies or turns out to have been dead, I will never forgive this damn show. The Dead Mom Theory has been floating around for a bit, and it gained traction in season eight's "The Time Travelers," in which we see Ted rush to the (unseen) Mother's apartment and say, "Exactly 45 days from now, you and I are going to meet." He tells her their love story and begs, "I...

The 200th episode of "How I Met Your Mother" is called "How Your Mother Met Me," and it tells the story of how the Mother's (Cristin Milioti) life intersected with Ted's (Josh Radnor) over the years.
The episode will feature her perspective on a times she and Ted almost crossed paths, so it's a good time to review them. Here are some of the moments you may see (again) in Monday's (Jan. 27) episode.
'Pilot' (Season 1, episode 1)
In 2030, a middle-aged Ted Mosby (voiced by Bob Saget) sits down to tell his two kids the story of how he met their mom. The episode ends with a swerve, as the opening story is all about how Ted met Robin (Cobie Smulders). A couple of weeks ago, I was pretty enthusiastic about the episode “The Time Travelers,” in which Ted found himself alone at McLaren’s facing a hard truth, which is that his friends have gotten older. They’ve moved on. The gang doesn’t hang out as much as they used to. And amid Ted’s nostalgia for one night in particular, an imaginary Barney says, “Ted, this moment is already gone.” I admit, I got a little choked up, so I felt like a dupe last night when Future Ted says, “Kids, you can’t cling to the past, because no matter how tightly you hold on, it’s already gone.”Wait a minute, writers: As much as I dig the sentiment, and have ever since Nate said something similar to Claire in the series finale of Six Feet Under, you trotted it out three episodes ago! A review of last night's "How I Met Your Mother" coming up just as soon as I DVR the news... I spent a good chunk of "The Time Travelers" feeling the same frustration I've had with much of this season. The jokes felt strained (Marshall using a falsetto to try to get out of the ladies room), or like watered-down versions of things "Himym" did much better back in the day (the entire time traveler gag was something used well, and sparingly, when Marshall visited his teenage self). This week on How I Met Your Mother, Robin and Marshall battled on the dance floor, while Ted took a long hard look at himself and his future.
"The Time Travelers " was a mashup of Multiplicity, Shelter Island and A Christmas Carol that at times confused the Dickens out of me. Still, I thoroughly enjoyed the episode, despite doing the dog head tilt a few times.
The revelation that the Minnesota Tidal Wave night happened five years ago was a sort of Sixth Sense moment, yet I was left a little confounded as to what to make of seeing all the "Ted people" Adding to the evening's twists and turns was guest star Jayma Mays.
Her performance as the two coat check girls was great. I loved the contrast between the smartly dressed version on the left and the one on the right wearing Ted's Wesleyan sweatshirt. I don't think she is the mother,...

The Doctor (William Hartnell), Steven (Peter Purves), and new companion Dodo (Jackie Lane), who is suffering from a cold, arrive in the Tardis some ten million years in the future on a giant spaceship carrying all the Earth's surviving plant, animal and human life (much of it miniaturized and in suspended animation) on a 700 year voyage to a new home on the planet Refusis II. The time travelers meet the stewards of the vessel, the mute one-eyed Monoids and their human minders. Dodo.s cold causes havoc since the Monoids and humans have no resistance and the trio is put on trial until the Doctor devises a treatment for the plague. The trio then re-boards the Tardis and takes...

Chicago – A fascinating B-movie gem from 1964, “Robinson Crusoe on Mars” gives modern viewers an idea of what America’s collective imagination (concerning space travel) looked like during that brief moment in time. As an entertainment, it’s hokey and creaky beyond belief, but as a cinematic time capsule, it’s quite a trip.
The film begins with the most heartbreaking bait and switch in camp movie history. Two years before his success with “Batman,” Adam West shows up as an astronaut orbiting Mars. The deadpan earnestness of his performance is priceless right from the beginning, as he scolds a floating monkey with the line, “Listen Mona, this banana paste is meant for your survival only!” Sadly, the ship is soon forced to evacuate, killing off West and leaving only disgruntled monkey Mona and West’s crewmate, Kit, played by Paul Mantee. Seriously, it’s like being promised Keir Dullea and getting Gary Lockwood.

Robert Schwentke's, ('The Time Travelers Wife'), new film 'Red', based on DC Comic's graphic novels by Warren Ellis and Cully Hamner, opens to theaters today and should be watched by all fans of Bruce Willis and especially Helen Mirren. Frank (Bruce Willis) is a former CIA 'black ops' agent who spends his retirement in his nice home doing mundane things. Frank's biggest excitement is when his retirement check arrives. He tears it up and then calls Sarah (Mary Louise Parker) at the center responsible for sending out payments. After reporting that his check...

I gotta be honest... I was not expecting this movie to look so good. Especially since it comes from the director of films such as Flightplan and The Time Travelers Wife. Red looks freakin' awesome! From the trailer it seems like director Robert Schwentke has done a fantastic job adapting the Warren Ellis comic book, which, revolves around a group of retired CIA agents.
I had a smile on my face all the way through the trailer, this is going to be freakin' fun and entertaining film! I'm serious! Why would I lie to you? Check out the trailer below and see for yourself!
Synopsis:
Frank, Joe, Marvin, and Victoria used to be the CIA’s top agents — but the secrets they know just made them the Agency’s top targets. Now framed for assassination, they must use all of their collective cunning, experience and teamwork to stay one step...

(Note: This story will be "stickied" at the top of our headlines for the day. Being able to host it is an honor beyond words.)

Guests began waiting on line at around 1:00Pm for the scheduled 3:00Pm reception. By 2:30 over 200 bodies had congregated at the doors of the theater. Inside, staff was scrambling. Pieces of Forry’s collection were being displayed (A first edition of Dracula signed by Bram Stoker and almost everyone who ever played the famous Vampire on screen, Bela Lugosi’s Dracula cape and Forry’s fave prop: the “Robotrix” from...
