Alex North's musical cue used in the sequence where The Palace is burning down was later re-arranged and used, to even greater effect, for the gladiator fight-to-the-death scene in Spartacus (1960).

Like many lawmen in the period after the Civil War, Tollinger has a gun stuffed into his waistband behind hid belt buckle. He uses it once to shoot down the chandelier in The Palace, and draws, fires, and kills Pinchot left handed at the end.
