The European edition of the Star Wars Celebration, the now-annual event where Disney puts the stars of whatever Star Wars movie is coming out that year on stage, hands them a microphone, and doesn’t let them say much of anything, is taking place in London this weekend. This morning, the big event was a panel on the upcoming Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the first in a series of standalone anthology films set in the Star Wars universe. Most of it was typical panel stuff: Fun anecdotes from the set, promises of big surprises, declarations that George Lucas is a “genius,” actors leaning over and looking nervously at producer Kathleen Kennedy when they were afraid they’d said too much.
But we did learn a few interesting new things at the panel, like confirmation that Mads Mikkelsen’s character, Galen Erso, is indeed the father of Felicity Jones...

‘Intelligent’ mosquitoes and slacker demons were lurking at the third European edition of the genre film market in Brussels.
Despite last week’s terror attacks in Brussels, the show went on at Fantasia’s Frontières International Co-Production Market for genre films at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival.
For its third European edition, the market curated one of its strongest selections to date, including Baskin director Can Evrenol’s Housewife. This time, Evrenol will focus on a woman who struggles with a traumatic family history and slowly loses her grip on reality.
Another stand-out was Amanda Kramer’s Drain You, adapted from her own novel of the same name.
Executive produced by Poltergeist remake director Gil Kenan, producer Rebecca Rose Perkins described the project as an “Lgbt grunge horror” and “Blue Is The Warmest Colour meets It Follows”. Set in La, it follows a teenager who falls in lust with a sexy older girl and becomes ensnared...

Next week’s Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival faces an uncertain future following a series of terrorist attacks in the Belgian capital.
A series of explosions in Brussels this morning, which have left many people killed or seriously injured, has thrown the future of the imminent Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival (Bifff) into doubt.
The 34th edition of the genre festival is due to open next Tuesday (March 29) with a screening of period action thriller Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.
But following two blasts at Zaventem airport around 7am (GMT) this morning and a further explosion at Maelbeek metro station an hour later, festival director Guy Delmote has stated that the upcoming event faces an uncertain future.
Speaking to ScreenDaily, Delmote said: “We don’t believe it. We are very sad for all the people who died today. We don’t know what’s going to happen in the next few days for the festival. We don’t want...

What was one of my best kept secrets, for about a year and half, was that if there was any weekend to attend the Fantasia International Film Festival it was the second weekend during the Frontières Co-Production Market. But like all good things that are awesome, and the news that we were not allowed to start a Frontières Fight Club and enforce rules one and two, word does get out and now it is the busiest weekend of the festival. I imagine the same must be for the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival when Frontières comes to town. Filmmakers, financiers, producers, buyers and sellers alike will descend into Brussels this Spring for the third annual co-production market, European edition. Frontières is now taking submissionsThe Frontières International Co-Production...

The long-awaited reboot of the Capcom classic Devil May Cry benefits from the work of not just one, but two groundbreaking artists: Dutch Electro-house trio Noisia, whose inventive score was also recently released (read our review of that album here), and industrial music heavyweight Combichrist – alias Andy LePlegua – who has been featured many times on FEARnet, partly due to his long-time association with horror, sci-fi and dark fantasy productions. Combichrist has previously licensed album tracks for video games as well, but this is the first time Laplegua has applied those cyber-rock skills to a complete game score of his own. Andy's own passion for gaming helped to sweeten the deal, as he went about his own interpretation of the game's principal character. “I had a lot of fun digging myself into Dante’s psyche in order to create music to match the battle scenes,” he explained, describing the project as...

Sony's Team Ico have a knack for creating experiences in video games that feel unlike anything else. They have accomplished this twice on the PlayStation 2, with their two masterpieces, "Ico" and "Shadow of the Colossus." While both games are ten and six years old respectively, they are just the prelude to the studio's next game, "The Last Guardian," and what better way to remind your fans of how good your games are, than to re-release them in high definition. Following in the footsteps of some other, high profile, re-releases "Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection" brings these two beloved games to the PlayStation 3.
The Basics
As two games that redefined the action/adventure genre, "Ico" and "Shadow of the Colossus" need little introduction. This "Collection" brings both games together on to one disc, drastically updates their visuals, adds 3D support, and takes you back to the magical world of the boy with the horns.

"American Idol" season nine runner-up Adam Lambert's biggest hit so far has been "Whataya Want From Me," one of the centerpiece tracks from his debut album For Your Entertainment. Most hardcore fans know that "Whataya Want From Me" was originally supposed to be a track for Pink, but when she decided not to go with it, the tune fell to Lambert (with excellent results). But on Thursday (November 11), the world learned that Pink would be including her own version of "Whataya Want From Me" on the European edition of her upcoming compilation Greatest Hits ... So Far!!!. A sample of the tune hit the Internet, and many fans — including MTV News' own Jim Cantiello — immediately weighed in on how it stands up against the version that Lambert turned into a hit.
