The world of “The Boys” is getting even bigger with the announcement of a new show called “Vought Rising.” Set way back in the 1950s, this prequel series will take us inside the origins of Vought International and the superpowered folks they created. We’ll be seeing some familiar faces too – Aya Cash is coming back as Stormfront and Jensen Ackles joins as Soldier Boy.
The show’s creator Eric Kripke says “Vought Rising” will be like a murder mystery. It will unravel all the secrets of how Vought started and how they made that crazy stuff called Compound V. Two big questions from the main show it will answer are what was the deal between Soldier Boy and Stormfront back in the day. In the current show, they hint those two had some kind of past romance but we don’t know the full story.

Get ready for a somewhat lengthy wait to see how phase 2 of Homelander and Sister Sage's dastardly plan for America shakes out. Actor Karl Urban has confirmed that the final season of The Boys won't begin streaming until 2026 in a post to his Instagram account.
"Working with the illustrious Jeffrey Dean Morgan was the best part of my day every day. That’s all @theboystv for now folks. See you in …2 years (wish it was sooner) for the final season on Prime Video," wrote Urban.

Amazon Prime Video has added a disclaimer to the season four finale of The Boys, which released on Thursday and contains similarities to the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump over the weekend that left two people dead, including the gunman.
“The season finale of The Boys contains scenes of fictional political violence, which some viewers may find disturbing, especially in light of the injuries and tragic loss of life sustained during the assassination attempt on former President Trump,” read a statement from the streamer posted to the Prime Video and The Boys official social media accounts timed to the episode’s midnight Thursday release.
“The Boys is a fictitious series that was filmed in 2023, and any scene or plotline similarities to these real-word events are coincidental and unintentional,” the statement continued, then concluding and making clear, “Amazon, Sony Pictures Television and the producers of The Boys reject, in the strongest terms,...

The on-screen The Boys doesn't differ from the comic book version in terms of its global message or major plot twists. However, the screen adaptation didn't embody the same level of black humor that was on the pages of the paper version, and also changed some details about the characters.
Here is a reminder of some of the changes made that probably did not do the show any good.
1. Simon Pegg as Hughie
In the show, Hughie Campbell is the youngest member of The Boys. He joins the team when his girlfriend is killed in an accident.
In the comics, Hughie is older than in the show, he is a Glaswegian Scotsman, and the character's appearance is based on actor Simon Pegg (though no one asked his permission when the character was created). The team refers to him as Wee Hughie for most of the story.

This article contains spoilers for The Boys season 4 episode 4.
It’s not looking good for Karl Urban’s Billy Butcher on The Boys, with the season 3 finale warning fans that the foul-mouthed cockney has only 12-18 months to live (if he’s lucky). With Butcher being the backbone of the series and leader of the titular Boys, we were worried that we’d be going into the fifth and final season without Billy by our side. Don’t worry though, because season 4 episode 4 might have just given him a new lease of life.
It doesn’t take the intellect of Sister Sage to figure out something’s not right with Butcher but “Wisdom of the Ages” introduces a potential get-out-of-jail-free card. We saw the side effects of Butcher injecting Temp V in season 3, leaving him with an inoperable brain tumor. While it all seems pretty finite, and Butcher himself claims...

The Boys’ Universe has become one of the most raw representations of superheroes. A world of corruption and humor that is a perfect satire of real-life issues. Since the release of the first season, it has turned into something grander than anyone could have imagined. Unfortunately, was recently announced that the series is going to end with its fifth season.

It’s the beginning of the end for The Boys.
The adult superhero universe of humans vs. supes (as superheroes are called in the series) will soon come to end after season five, showrunner Eric Kripke announced on Tuesday, just two days before the hit Amazon series prepares to launch its fourth season with a three-episode premiere.
On his social media, Kripke announced his intentions to the fanbase by putting up a final script page for the forthcoming finale of season four. After redacting the script, the bottom of the page read: “See You For Our Final Season, Motherfuckers!”
So, why is the creator of such a widely popular (and timely) satirical series about superheroes ready to pull the plug? In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter later on Tuesday, Kripke had a big grin on his face in anticipation of being asked that question.

There’s only about a month to go until The Boys is – finally, at long last – back in town. Two years after the all-out carnage of Season 3 (that Termite moment still haunts us all), Season 4 is finally due to arrive on Prime Video this June. Gather 'round fellow Supes and sickos, because "The Boys" are back in town for season 4. The smash-hit superhero satire series on Prime Video has been one of the streamer's greatest success stories, spawning the equally popular animated spin-off "Diabolical," and more recently, the college-set "Gen V." When we last saw the foul-mouthed heroes and villains (and everything in between) at the end of season 3, there were some massive shakeups happening. Homelander straight up killed a guy in front of a crowd to uproarious applause, Annie has given up her role as Starlight and has joined the Boys' mercenary group in an official capacity, and The Seven is in absolute shambles.
Fortunately, we already know we can expect two new Supes, Sister Sage and Firecracker. With Starlight out and Queen Maeve having faked her own death to live a life in obscurity with her partner Elena, it's about time we had...

Amazon – via its Prime Video service — just can't get enough of the superhero satire, bloody carnage and sexually inappropriate behaviour of The Boys. Not content with the original main series, college-set live-action spin-off Gen V (which was recently renewed for a second season) and animated series Diabolical, the company is now in the early stages of developing a Mexican version of the show, with :a[Blue Beetle]{href='https://www.empireonline.com/movies/reviews/blue-beetle/' }'s Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer attached to write the initial script.

Back in 2021, it was announced that a new animated Batman show was coming on board as executive producers, Ed Brubaker on the creative team, and got an instant 10-episode series order. It sounded like every Batman fan’s dream – except, in August last year, the series was axed at HBO Max amid a bout of Warner Bros. Discovery cost-cutting. Good news: it’s taken a while, but the show finally has a new home.
Now, Amazon has picked up Caped Crusader for a two-season order on its Prime Video streaming service – though, according to THR, formal deals are yet to be signed. In recent years, Amazon has ploughed further into comic book-inspired adult animated fare – from the uncompromising Invincible, to The Boys animated spin-off Diabolical, so while it’s surprising to see a property as huge as Batman end up somewhere other than a Warner Bros outlet, it seems a sensible home for the show.
