Rowan Atkinson is once again using his own car. This time it's an Aston Martin V8 Vantage classic. In an interview, Atkinson told that he bought the car just six months before shooting, and had the car in mind for this movie.
Charles Dance, Sir Michael Gambon, and Edward Fox appeared playing three old agents. Dance, Gambon, and Fox all have ties to the James Bond film franchise. Sir Michael Gambon was asked to audition to replace George Lazenby as James Bond in Kim Cương Vĩnh Cửu (1971), but declined the offer. Charles Dance played Claus in Riêng Cho Đôi Mắt Em (1981) and was considered for the part of James Bond, but declined to audition. He played James Bond creator Ian Fleming in Goldeneye (1989). Finally, Edward Fox played M in Đừng Bao Giờ Nói Không Nữa (1983), which also featured Rowan Atkinson (in his feature film debut) as Nigel Small-Fawcett.
Dame Emma Thompson's supporting role was kept a secret during filming. Her appearance was first revealed in the theatrical trailer.
Ben Miller reprises his role as Bough from Johnny English: Điệp Viên Không Không Thấy (2003). A scene was filmed for Johnny English: Điệp Viên Không Không Thấy Tái Xuất (2011) where Bough briefly appears as Pegasus' secretary, telling Johnny that he is married to a decorator named Jessica, and they have children. The scene was cut from the movie, although the awkward hug that Bough gives Johnny in this film is similar to what he did in the deleted scene; however, his wife is called Lydia now, and she is a submarine captain.
Pauline McLynn: , who is famous for playing Mrs. Doyle on the Channel 4 Irish sitcom Father Ted (1995), in this movie plays Mrs. Trattner, the driving student who Johnny commandeers the driving school car in the car chase between him and Volta.
