(I'll appreciate where it's due.)
The film goes to tell two different stories and one name connects them both. The good part is when both the stories connect but the bad part comes very quickly after that. The interconnecting stories instead of 'interconnecting' they start 'blending' with each other which makes no sense logically (maybe the director/writer had their own sense of understanding in it but it doesn't come out in the visuals/ film). At 2 hours and just above 10 minutes, the film is too long for a horror film. I do appreciate that this horror film has a story though a cliche one, the screenplay is what takes the cake. I just couldn't ignore the bad special effects but there was something worse - not shooting in London and naming the location as London. It was very evident. The film makers could have used Chennai or Mumbai instead, if two cities were needed for the story. Why London and not shoot in London? The only thing London in the film is the taxi which can be constructed by a mechanic or any good art director. The screenplay is somewhere good but the story puts the screenplay down. The film has numerous cliche moments and that's not good for a screenplay. But to keep themselves away from those cliche things, the writer(s) went crazy. I did get the story but the blending wasn't done right. They could have approached it in some other way. The acting by everyone is average, nothing great. The dialogues are horrible. I do appreciate the film makers not bringing the Tamil disease of native people going abroad and everyone they meet speaks their language. That happens in every Tamil film where characters go abroad and everyone they meet is happy that they are Tamilians and they all speak broken if not fluent Tamil. Disgusting. Anyway, surprisingly the lighting is good throughout the film which is very important in a horror genre.
It isn't a bad film. It's out and out horror film with everything a horror film should have. But those 'everything' makes the film repetitive. It's very difficult to make a horror film. Though the entire film was slow and boring, the near interval and the second half does make you sit tight but with such illogically written moments in the story, it just makes one crazy. A good attempt but was not worth my watch.
