Like with Nhà Trắng Thất Thủ (2013) and Luân Đôn Thất Thủ (2016), Morgan Freeman has openly admitted in interviews that he did this movie mainly for the money. As he explained for the previous two: "Money. It's the third in a series it pays better than the first one. I get to play the president again, I'm in a successful series, I'm working with a guy I really admire and like. It's perfect." When asked whether he still felt "fire in his belly" with regard to acting, he said: "I enjoy it, I still enjoy it. I love making movies, but it's more like smouldering embers now."
Piper Perabo replaced Radha Mitchell as Leah Banning, Mike's wife, whom Mitchell played in Nhà Trắng Thất Thủ (2013) and Luân Đôn Thất Thủ (2016).
The G20 summit shown in the film, which President Trumbull attends, is actual footage of the 2017 G20 summit in Hamberg, Germany. Trumbull (Morgan Freeman) was edited in place of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and U.K. Prime Minister Theresa May was edited out.
Production on the film was delayed by three months, to allow Gerard Butler time to recover from an injury he received while riding his motorcycle.
Gerard Butler and Morgan Freeman are the only two actors reprising their roles for this installment. Thus, being the only two actors to appear in all three "Has Fallen" movies.
