This action vehicle centers on the Hong Kong underworld. There is plenty of action, the plot moves along at a reasonably quick pace, and Jason Pai Piao comes across as likeable enough in the lead role. There are also several touches of the requisite humor typically found in movies of this genre.
However, it's difficult to root for Piao and his entire crew when everyone involved--on all sides--are thieves, murderers, betrayers, and con artists. To complicate matters in this regard, some of the main characters on all sides also have redeeming qualities to counterbalance their criminal endeavors.
