Well, where to start.
In today's TV there's so much variety that there's something for every taste, but this show gets unfairly slagged so hopefully anyone reading this will give it a chance without dismissing it just from unfavorable reviews which have no real grounding anyways.
There's drama, comedy, love stories, crime, family, friendship and social diversity exploration all combined with well chosen and composed cast, which should satisfy your need for a deep, but at the same time not too burdening or overly complicated story that you can follow weekly and not feel like you wasted your time by watching it.
Of course there are some flaws in it, but nothing is perfect, and if you give it a shot I think you'll learn to appreciate it more and more by each episode you see.
Give it a chance, that's all I'm saying.

This show is actually good and has some powerful messages for its viewers. It is up to the viewers how and what message they grab from this show. If you are looking for some fairy tale story in which everything gets good at the end of the episode then this show is not for you. Feed the Beast shows the reality and the challenges one has to face and the price one has to pay to dream big in a dark neighborhood. It is about optimism. Almost All the major characters had one thing in common. They all were optimistic in one way or the other! That's what life is all about. Never to lose hope and get your work done and move forward. Acting was good. Dialogues could have been better. No show is perfect but we should give this show another chance!

After recently rewatching the musical movie Across the Universe, I checked out IMDb to see what actor Jim Sturgess has done since, and discovered Feed the Beast. I remembered seeing commercials for it this past winter, so I was happy to find out all 10 episodes were available for streaming on DirecTV. Over the past four evenings, I've binge watched Feed the Beast. It's not as good as my favorite AMC dramas Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, but I really enjoyed it. Jim Sturgess is great in the part of a low-life, creepy kind of guy that you want to hate, but part of you just likes him. At first I was turned off by the casting of David Schwimmer as the widowed father, having been so familiar with him as the whiny Ross from Friends. But by episode 6 or 7, his character seemed to turn a corner and now he really feels right in the role. Some of the story lines are predictable, but I did not see coming the big cliffhanger that happens at the end of episode 10. I really hope Feed the Beast is renewed for a second season so we are left hanging with what happened!

It start a little bit slow but then it got really interesting. I really hate that there is no second season. I was waiting to see what is going to happened after the last episode and now I can't believe they canceled a great TV show.
Whats wrong with you people? If prison break is back again then feed the beast needs a second season.

This show is one of those "if nothing else is on" type of things. It has a nice premise and location...food, cooking and New York. I figured it would be worth a try...then came Jim Sturgess, the absolute worst actor in Hollywood. I didn't recognize him at first...then the "acting" began and I remembered how he destroyed any value Geostorm might have had. Had he not gotten pounded on a few times in the first episode, I might have stopped watching. Everyone else is solid, making it bearable if you have some time to kill. Go in with low expectations and you'll enjoy it.

I loved the series - great to start, a little slow and perhaps predictable in the middle, but then built up to a stupendously good finale.
So having just finished watching it on Netflix, I logged on to IMDb to see when the next series is due. But hey, guess what? It's been CANCELLED?
You can't end a show with a cliffhanger and then cancel it. BOOO. Crime bosses crossing paths, good characters with potential for remarkable story arcs. Boom. Gone.

One of Schwimmer's best roles along with the rest of the cast. The life long new yorker misses the point that the neighborhood is under redevelopment as is true of many urban neighborhoods in NYC. The Bronx was the worst and the last to be renovated.
And by the way, there certainly are white areas in the Bronx. I went to Catholic High School in the Bronx and the majority of students were white.
It seems this neighborhood, like many in the burnt out Bronx, has barely anyone around. Look , compared to most shows on TV , this is a masterpiece. No, it is not Martin Scorcese New York authenticity but good enough to feed my appetite.

I don't even know if this show is good or bad because every single time Jim Sturgess comes to screen I want to punch it. He is so bad that I somehow want to keep going and so good at being bad that it's addictive.
Astonishingly annoying and a bad performance from this guy.

"AMC'S" new series "Feed the Beast" is an entertaining take and spin on getting by the best way you can even if it means illegal means! The drama is a spin and drama take that intersects with the mob and deals with money under the table being the themes that run the show. Anyway Dion(Jim Sturgess)has just got out of prison and he's still in debt with the mob so he decides to open up a restaurant with his old high school buddy Tommy(some well deserved work for David Schwimmer)and Tommy has some problems on the side he's a single dad with a mute son and he's in a power struggle with his rich dad who also puts a hand into the operation of the restaurant. And this series for cable true may not be "The Sopranos" still it's got plenty of blood and violence and action to keep it interesting. Overall check it out this series is a good vice spin on morality, money, and getting the job done anyway you can and by any means necessary so feed your viewing pleasure and watch "Feed the Beast".
I really wanted to like this show! I thought it might be a little like Breaking Bad, one of my all time AMC favorites (along with Better Call Saul) with some Parenthood tossed in. Things seemed promising at first...sort of. Loved the cool blues music. I figured David Schwimmer would be a really "relatable" kind of character. However, bit by bit, I was more and more turned off by the show.
Number one, it's completely cliché. Number two, there is no real character development. the characters are all very two dimensional. Number 3, the show seems like it's trying too hard to be "bad ass." You know, murder, drugs, theft, alcoholism,etc.... like we need these bad element nowadays to make a show interesting, trying to capitalize on "The Breaking Bad effect." Only, here's the thing: Breaking Bad had GOOD WRITING and EXCELLENT ACTING!!! Not to mention REALISTIC characters. Without these elements, you just don't care enough about what happens to the people in the show.
In Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, you always want to know WHAT HAPPENS NEXT? In Feed the Beast, you just don't really care. You don't like ANY of the characters, and there is very little humor to break things up. And that whole mafia thing just seems so unnecessary....so fake! And what is with the female characters? First of all, why does Pilar act like a wide eyed little five year old? what adult woman living in the Bronx would act like this? So unrealistic! And why is she wearing a different coat every time we see her? Is she secretly rich? And why would David Schwimmer hire her - and not fire her - when she keeps f...ing up in her job? And most important of all, why are they PAIRING her ROMANTICALLY with Schwimmer when she is like thirty years younger? I wanted to gag when they kissed, it seemed so.....wrong....
And why would Schwimmer allow his young son to spend time with that old man who is such a bad influence? And why does the social worker look like a fourteen year old? This show just irritates the hell out of me. I have no clue why I keep watching! I guess I just keep hoping it will get better.....but I really feel disappointed thus far (in case you couldn't tell)!

I very like this show! It is somehow different, more intelligent that others shows, interesting, so intense, captivating, so well made and with brilliant cast (everyone!)! It is so unusual that in series with so many characters (from first, second and even third plan) all actors are chosen wisely and genuinely and everyone has their personality - from the main characters, to supporting roles to even serving the kitchen. I couldn't believe there will be no continuation! I can not remember a series in which as many plots and characters are equivalent, interesting, worth developing and giving so much more possibilities to this series. I hope this show will return! Lots of interesting plots to expand!

I'm carrying on as I've nothing else to do but it really really is terrible writing.
It's amazing what a show Could Be in the hands of a good writer but this is pretty bad. Over acting, under acting, just silly really. What grown men call themselves the tooth fairy as if this is Candyman or something. I cannot be scared even by the bad guy, he's like a bad guy out of a children's tv show.

David S was good here, never like the fake and expected American humour of Friends, here he actually played. It's a nice tv show to watch, but it's not memorable one. I like it.
