De Dhakka 2 (2022) : Brief Review -

Almost a funny PUSH, fell down on face in foreign soil. De Dhakka (2008) was one of my first films in cinema halls (at a mature age, I mean), so I knew the hysteria and nostalgia very well. Marathi cinema was lacking a blockbuster family comedy in the 2000s decade, and "Sade Made Teen" and "De Dhakka" came at the right time to emerge as record-breaking hits at the box office. De Dhakka also enjoys high repeat value. I myself have seen that film over 50 times at home, so somehow I knew this cult family comedy never needed a sequel. Why did the makers feel like making it now in 2022? I can't figure that out. Anyways, De Dhakka tries hard to make the new push look like the old one but fails due to some outdated and senseless theories. The number of glitches is greater than the comedy in the film, so you can understand what I am trying to say. I can't reveal all those glitches here, but I am sure you'll find a lot in those 130 minutes, and that's why I want you to watch this film. However, I enjoyed some of the gags in the first half. Actually, I enjoyed the entire first hour, especially the first 15 minutes. So many humorous and spoofy one-liners were there in the first hour. But as the vehicle went ahead, it kept losing the fuel of organic comedy. The entire show became a 'Khatara Car' in the second half. How can you ask people to enjoy outdated single-screen era jokes and cliches in 2022? What was the need for cheap and vulgar humour and horrendous filmy action there? De Dhakka crashes and how. Firstly, you shouldn't have made such a film or such a sequel after 14 years. It might have been suited for 2009 or 2010 better because of the hype, but in today's time, it's just useless. It looks inorganic, fake and forceful. Even a college student was saying the same in a cinema hall. If he can understand it, why can't the filmmakers, actors and writers? As a whole, watchable in parts, but a big Dhakka in terms of downfall.
