WrestleMania XV Thoughts
WrestleMania XV was the 15th annual WrestleMania that took place at the First Union Center in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. With a crowd attendence of 20, 276 it was a slightly larger attendence than it's previous. WWE's major storyline involved the beginning of one of the best rivalries of all time between 2 of the biggest faces of the Attitude Era. Both would go at it in a one on one NO DQ match for the WWE Championship. Other notable stars competing were Undertaker, Kane, Mankind, Triple H and the Big Show.
The Good - The Rock and Stone Cold obviously is the most memorable thing about this card and it was what many considered to be the night Rock finally gain more loved from fans which got him a Babyface turn 2 months later. The Match itself was awesome. It was not best the 2 ever put up as years later they would have an all time great but it was a great match. Austin really sold the knee bump really good. The match between X-Pac and Shane McMahon was good too and honestly you can say it was the second best match of the night.
The Meh - Undercard wasn't so Interesting. The WWF at the time had a good roster but it's obvious they still lacked something the rival promotion had which was unique and terrific wrestlers in the ring. Some like Owen Hart and Jeff Jarrett are great wrestlers but they never got a chance to shine much even in their match. The crowd wasn't bad but the atmosphere around the arena just didn't feel like a WrestleMania crowd
The Bad - Speaking of feeling like a WrestleMania, this show felt more like an extended Raw. The booking to a few matches as well as angles happening all over the place to set up future feuds was a big negative for this show. Sable vs. Tori was piece of trash and that's all about it. Also Micheal Cole. Even Micheal Cole has his days as I never thought he was awful but he just couldn't make you get into something like JR could. Proof of that is when JR takes over in the main event. Oh and Undertaker vs. Big Bossman. What a waste to put it as a Hell in a Cell.
Overall - The weakest WrestleMania of the Attitude Era. It's not a terrible show. Not even boring. But a letdown for a WrestleMania.
0 = Terrible: 1 = Bad/Lackluster: 2 = Decent: 3 = Good: 4 = Awesome: 5 = One of the best of all time:
1. Al Snow vs. Hardcore Holly vs. Billy Gunn: Hardcore Championship - 3/5
2. D'Lo Brown & Test vs. Jarret & Owens: World Tag Team Championship - 1/5
3. Butterbean vs. Bart Gunn (Brawl For All) - Not Worth It
4. Mankind vs. Big Show - 1.5/5
5. Road Dogg vs. Val Venus vs. Ken Shamrock vs. Goldust: Intercontinental Championship (Elimination Four Corners Match) - 3/5
6. Kane vs. Triple H - 2.5/5
7. Tori vs. Sable - 0/5
8. X-Pac vs. Shane McMahon: European Championship - 3/5
9. Undertaker vs. Big Bossman (Hell in a Cell) - 1/5
10. Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. The Rock: WWE Championship - 4/5
Best Match - Rock vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin
Worst Match - Tori vs. Sable
Most Memorable Moment - Nothing to be honest
Top 5 Performers
1. Stone Cold
2. The Rock
3. Mankind
4. X-Pac
5. Jim Ross
Score - 5 out of 10: Mediocre
