Alex Ferguson(XV)
- Music Department
With much of his career unfolding at AIR Studios, Alex has worked on some of the best-known films of the last decade: his portfolio includes feature musicals The Little Mermaid, Matilda the Musical, and Rocketman, alongside Back To The Future: The Musical for the West End. In 2024, he received a Golden Reel nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Music Editing for his work on Paul King's Wonka, a process that spanned over two years.
In addition to film, Alex boasts credits for a versatile body of work in music, including indie artist Lowswimmer, alt-pop band MIYA MIYA, and indie rock band Good Neighbours.
One of many things he loves about the industry is the collaboration and being part of a team shaping the stories being told. "I always enjoy the challenge of understanding a project's unique needs," he says, "so I can work out the best possible way to serve the production." Director Paul King on working with Alex on Wonka mentioned "..the vocal performances were totally transformed under Alex's guidance and I'm so grateful to have been able to work with him."
Alex's decade-long career in the music and film industry began with a scholarship at the Academy of Contemporary Music. After interning at some of London's best recording studios and working at Glastonbury Festival on various stages, he became an assistant engineer at AIR Studios in 2015. Since then, he has immersed himself in studio life and honed his craft with some of the best engineers, producers, and musical talent.
