Premam, which was a remake of the hit Malayalam movie of the same title, also had Naga Chaitanya play the lead role. The film was a huge success and the duo is attempting to taste another victory at the box office with Savyasachi. It was initially rumoured that Madhavan plays the antagonist in Savyasachi, but sources from the film’s camp clarified that it was not true and that he plays a completely different role. Nidhi Agarwal plays Naga Chaitanya’s love interest in the film with Madhavan and Bhumika Chawla in important roles. The others in the star cast include Vennela Kishore, Dishita Sehgal, Rao Ramesh, and Thagubothu Ramesh. The film is scheduled for release on June 10 and the team is working towards this deadline. J Yuvaraj has cranked the camera for Savyasachi while S Rama Krishna and Monika Niggotre have done the editing. Touted to be a romantic action entertainer, the film’s stunts have been choreographed by Ram and Lakshman. Madhavan was recently offered a role in the Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan starrer Simmba, the Hindi remake of the Telugu blockbuster Temper, but the actor had to turn it down due to his shoulder surgery, after which Sonu Sood bagged the role. In recent times, rumors have been floating around alleging that upcoming film Hindi Medium has been a copy of the Bengali movie Ramdhanu.
Director Sanket Chaudhary has come forward to clear any misunderstandings regarding this and had this to say, “Hindi Medium is a story about how education that is supposed to be a tool of enlightenment has become a tool to create inequality. This inequality is created on the basis of English schools versus regional language schools, private schools versus government schools. We have researched our script over a year and it is based on original material. I would request everyone involved to not rush to a judgement without ascertaining the facts. And the facts can easily be confirmed by watching Hindi Medium on 12th May.”
