Malhar Thakar is a popular actor in the Gujarati film industry. He is an alumnus of Shree Ambe Vidyalaya and Sheth C.N. Vidyalaya in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. He performed in the theatre for nine years before venturing into Gujarati cinema.
Thakar made his debut with the comedy film Chhello Divas (2015), which was a blockbuster hit. However, he earned widespread recognition in 2016 when he starred alongside Manoj Joshi in Thai Jashe! (2016). He won the 16th Annual Transmedia Gujarati Screen & Stage awards for best actor for his role as Pranav Joshi in the movie.
His next success came with the romantic film Love Ni Bhavai (2017), which ran in the theatre for 100 days.
In 2018, Thakar launched his production house and named it Ticket Window Entertainment. He also started an NGO during COVID-19 to help those affected by the pandemic.
Thakar has also acted in some popular television and web series. He was a part of the first episode of the award-winning Hindi TV show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (2008). For two seasons, he also acted in the Gujarati television show, Do Not Disturb (2019).
In 2022, he entered Bollywood cinema with Maja Ma (2022), where he played a supporting role.
Thakar has also been a part of several music videos, including Shahid Mallya's 'Aazmake Na Dekhi' and Santvani Trivedi's 'Aatma ni Odakh'.
