One of Colombia's most active composers in the film industry, Felipe Linares, is a composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist who blends acoustic and electronic textures, along with minimalistic yet powerful music lines, resulting in an innovative sound.
Born in Bogotá, Colombia, Linares took guitar lessons as a boy and began making music in the late '80s. He then studied composition and piano at Universidad de los Andes.
His early scores were composed for various short films written and directed by his friend Andrés Beltrán. This Director/Composer collaboration continued on the feature films "Malos Días" and "Tarumama," with both scores earning nominations for Best Score at Los Premios Macondo in Colombia, with the latter winning. His music for the film "Sumergible" was nominated for the Ecuadorian Premios Colibrí.
Linares' TV work includes the music for Netflix series such as "Green Frontier," "The Great Heist," "The Final Score," and more recently, "The Hijacking of Flight 601."
