Scott Braden Cawthon, also known as "Animdude", is an American video game developer, author, and philanthropist best known for developing the 2014 survival horror video game Five Nights at Freddy's, which has since expanded into one of the best-selling media franchises in history, and for founding the video game development company ScottGames in 2019.

His inspiration for Five Night's at Freddy's came from one of his older games, Chipper & Sons Lumber Co.. The game's visuals were criticized for the characters looking like "scary animatronic animals." Scott was heartbroken by the criticism and almost gave up game-making entirely. Then he thought about making a game that was all about scary animatronic animals.
