The Justice League and the Huntsmen are back in Justice League x Rwby: Super Heroes & Huntsmen, Part Two, to conclude the underwhelming story from April’s part one. Other than commercial considerations, there is no real reason for the two teams to be paired together; no real character and dramatic opportunities are present, which may be why the story doesn’t really work.
We force the Jl heroes to be transformed into teen versions of themselves and brought to the Huntsmen’s world, working across Remnant’s four kingdoms of Vale, Mistral, Atlas, and Vacuo to fight the good fight. Let me start by saying I am not now, nor have I ever been a fan of Rwby, an American anime series that has been chugging along since its debut in 2013. For the last few years, producer Rooster Teeth has managed to partner with DC Comics for crossovers between the warriors, trained and dedicated to protecting the world of Remnant from Grimms, actual monsters.
I suppose it was inevitable that the comics crossovers would eventually find their way to the animated world where Rwby enjoys its fame. So, released recently is Justice League x Rwby: Super Heroes & Huntsmen, Part One, available as a 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray/Digital HD combo pack from Warner Home Entertainment.

Rooster Teeth, the Austin-based media giant that launched a video game publishing division two years ago, has unveiled its latest title: a multiplayer first-person shooter called Vicious Circle.
Set in a gritty, sci-fi comic book universe, Vicious Circle marks the first original IP game from Rooster Teeth Games. Previous titles, such as Rwby: Grimm Eclipse, have been inspired by existing series -- such as the long-running anime Rwby. Vicious Circle was created by Michael Hadwin, the company’s head of game development, in collaboration with the company’s founders and other Rooster Teeth execs.
Rooster Teeth founders Gus Sorola and Burnie Burns announced the new game yesterday on The Rooster Teeth Podcast alongside frequent personalities Gavin Free and Barbara Dunkelman. Citing the success of Grimm Eclipse, Burns said that the company tasked the same creative team with formulating an original concept. “Rwby” volume 6, the latest installment of Rooster Teeth’s popular anime-style series, will premiere Oct. 27, the company announced.
The new season (which Rooster Teeth dubs “volumes”) will initially be available on the company’s subscription-streaming service, which starts at $4.99 monthly, with new episodes to be released on a weekly basis.
“Rwby” is set in the magical world of Remnant, in which four girls — Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang — fight legions of evil monsters. In volume 6, “Rwby’s” female foursome have been reunited and their first mission back is one of grave importance: escorting the Relic of Knowledge to Atlas. With Beacon Academy destroyed and the kingdom of Mistral compromised, per Rooster Teeth, “Remnant’s northernmost academy may now be the safest place in the world, but making it there will be more dangerous than anyone could have imagined.”

Rooster Teeth has tapped former pornographic actress-turned social media personality Mia Khalifa to help resurrect Sportsball -- a sports video podcast that was cancelled after an initial run from Aug. 2015 to Feb. 2016.
The first iteration of the series was co-hosted by Rooster Teeth’s resident sports enthusiast and former ESPN radio personality Tyler Coe, who is also returning for the rebooted version. The weekly series, premiering on July 16, is aimed at “sports fans who don’t take themselves too seriously,” according to Rooster Teeth, and will feature no-holds-barred interviews and free-flowing conversations on sports news with a comedic twist.

Stars: Robbie Kay, Jacob Batalon, Seychelle Gabriel, Jacob Batalon, Barbara Dunkelman, Tate Donovan, Zachary Levi | Written and Directed by Owen Egerton
Produced by popular YouTube outfit Rooster Teeth, Blood Fest aims to follow in the footsteps of self-aware meta horrors like Scream and Cabin in the Woods. Unfortunately, while there’s no doubting the filmmakers’ evident love for the genre, the end result isn’t nearly as funny or as clever as it thinks it is.
After a generic slasher movie prologue in which a young boy sees his mother get killed by a masked maniac, we’re introduced to horror-loving Dax (Robbie Kay) and his best buddies Sam (Seychelle Gabriel) and Krill (Jacob Batalon), who are desperate to attend horror festival Blood Fest, against the wishes of Dax’s strict father (Tate Donovan), who blames the genre for his wife’s (i.e. Dax’s mother’s) murder in the prologue.

After experimenting with his form of boundary-pushing, cinema-as-memory films to great, succesful lengths with his last three narrative features–not to mention Voyage of Time, which we’re still awaiting an actual U.S. release for–Terrence Malick will return to more of a traditional script with his WWII drama Radegund, hopefully releasing later this year. But first, after splicing in avant-garde and experiential touches with his last few films, he’s making the natural step into virtual reality.
Premiering at South by Southwest Festival–where he gave a rare public talk last year–on March 13 is the Vr experience Together, which is directed by Malick and shot by cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto (Silence, The Wolf of Wall Street, Brokeback Mountain). Austin, Texas-based digital studio Rooster Teeth is bringing back its hit series, Million Dollars, But…, for a fourth season. Set to premiere on March 27, influencers Grace Helbig, Hannah Hart, Phil DeFranco, and the cosplayer Jessica Nigri will serve as guest stars alongside series regulars Burnie Burns, Gavin Free, and Barbara Dunkelman.
In Million Dollars, But…, players posit fictional, absurd situations to see what they would or wouldn’t do for $1 million. For instance: “You get a million dollars, but every time you sneeze, you teleport to a random place in the world.” Then, these scenarios are envisioned onscreen to great comedic effect. The fourth season of Million Dollars, But… will premiere on Rooster Teeth’s Svod platform, First -- which it says counts 200,000 subscribers -- beginning on March 27, before rolling out to YouTube and other free services.

As it expans beyond its gaming-oriented roots, Rooster Teeth has paid particular attention to the world of animation, from which it has mined several long-form projects. The latest in that line is Sex Swing, a ribald comedy based on characters created by the Rooster Teeth-owned Funhaus channel.
Sex Swing will follow the misadventures of its titular band, a rock outfit that lives a hard-partying lifestyle. The series is stylistically similar to the show Metalocalypse, as Rooster Teeth looks to grab a piece of the adult animation boom led by Adult Swim.
Like many other Rooster Teeth projects, Sex Swing will feature several of the studio’s staff members and frequent collaborators in its principal roles. The show’s voice actors include Barbara Dunkelman, Jordan Cwierz, Gray G. Haddock, and Kerry Shawcross, and the original Sex Swing shorts were released through Funhaus, which was formed by the old Inside Gaming crew back in 2015. Cwierz,...

Rooster Teeth’s annual expo just got a whole lot bigger. The Fullscreen-owned, Austin-based production company announced Rtx 2016 will take place from July 1-3, and will also boast the addition of the ScrewAttack Gaming Convention (Sgc).
Rtx 2016 will take place over the first three days of July at the Austin Convention Center, as well as at the city’s Jw Marriott and Hilton hotels. In addition to the expo’s usual schedule of panels, gameplays, and meet-ups, Rtx will boast even more content thanks to Sgc. The convention, hosted by the production company and YouTube gaming channel ScrewAttack (also a part of the Fullscreen family), is moving from its home in Frisco, Texas to become a permanent fixture of Rtx for the foreseeable future.
Rtx has grown by proverbial leaps and bounds since its inception in 2011. The traditionally Austin-based event will now have an Australian iteration in early 2016. The fifth...

Over the last five years, Rooster Teeth’s flagship convention, Rtx, has grown from a small gathering of fans to a huge three-day spectacle other online video production companies could only dream of hosting. With tens of thousands of attendees, special guests like Freddie Wong, and demos of unreleased video games like Behemoth’s Pit People, in a few short years Rtx has become an event to be reckoned with.
Much of the success of the yearly, Austin-based convention stems from Rooster Teeth (aka Rt) Community Manager, Barbara Dunkelman. At an interview with Tubefilter during Rtx 2015, the 26-years-young staff member discussed the event’s humble origins, its explosive growth, and the future of RTXs around the world.
Dunkelman said Rtx was initially conceived after Rt staff members decided it was better to host one giant get-together instead of individually attending separate fan events around the world. “We love our community,...

Rooster Teeth never ceases to appreciate and delight its fans. With that in mind, the Austin-based production shop responsible for some of the most popular web series in online video history (like Red Vs. Blue and Rwby) just released their new murder mystery series, Ten Little Roosters, on November 4, 2014. It's a whodunit tale that immediately gets the viewers involved. The first episode takes place at the First Rooster Teeth Banquet, a formal event hosted by Rooster Teeth co-founder Burnie Burns in appreciation of nine of his staff members. The night quickly turns sour when Achievement Hunter's Michael Jones accuses everyone in the room of their awkward and gruesome past crimes and threatens to turn them into the authorities. However, Jones soon falls over dead by way of a poisoned his drink, and from there on it’s all Clue-the-movie-style mystery and mayhem as the rest of the staff tries to...
