Bonnie Efird is a Los Angeles based actress, improviser, producer and writer from Charlotte, NC.
Bonnie is most known for her role in the mockumentary comedy TV pilot "The Gentle Art" portraying Dr. McKenzie Miller - a sarcastic yet likable fresh-out-of-med-school anesthesiologist.
Bonnie has starred in a myriad of films, TV shows, short films, sketches, web series, improv shows, theater and musical theater productions and rose through the comedy ranks at both Upright Citizens Brigade LA and The Groundlings.
Bonnie performs on multiple improv teams at various improv/sketch comedy venues in LA and is known for her character "Fun Mom" inspired by her own real-life over-the-top chardonnay-loving mother.
Bonnie has studied acting with LA greats including Anthony Meindl, Craig Wallace, Howard Fine and Margie Haber.
Bonnie is currently optioning her female forward ensemble comedy pilot that is based on her mom's wild southern 50's-something friend group (the S.L.U.T.S., Southern Ladies Under Tremendous Stress") who are always challenging the status quo of Southern high society.
Bonnie has also worked as a 1st AD/2nd AD, script supervisor, producer, and unit production manager on a myriad of independent feature films and short films including Tane McClure's Horror Film Seance Games Metaxu which, thanks to Gravitas Ventures, is now available on Apple TV and Amazon, as well as McClure's Sci-fi film Voyager 2150 which has won over 30 awards on the film festival circuit.
Bonnie is a National Dressage Champion (read: experienced equestrian) and trained singer (alto belter!). Bonnie holds a B.A. in Journalism from Elon University and an M.A. in Strategic Communications from Pepperdine University.
