Carl Jackson is an American producer and director of film and television entertainment.
Carl Jackson Entertainment LLC was founded in 2002 and is owned by American filmmaker Carl Elijah Jackson. Carl Jackson has executive produced, produced, and directed several films, including the DOVE Foundation-approved film "Southern Girls" with original music produced by Phil Keaggy, "Blissful Lies" starring Emmy Award-winning Leann Hunley, "Carl Jackson's The Jesus Freak" (2017), Carl Jackson's LAX (2021), the sequel LAX 2 Paris (2023) and "Virtual Time" (2024).
Family-friendly entertainment distributor Bridgestone Multimedia Group signed a multi-year production and distribution deal with producer/director Carl Jackson in 2009, to produce motion pictures and TV programming. No film or TV programming ever was made because of creative differences between Carl Jackson and the executives. After things didn't go well with the partnership, Carl decided to start a distribution and marketing arm for his entertainment company. The first film released under the banner Carl Jackson Motion Pictures Studios; was "Southern Girls". In 2018, Carl signed a television and film deal with the FOX-owned Tubi. And in 2022 Carl Jackson Studios signed a 10-picture deal with Buffalo 8/Bondit Media Capital.
Carl Jackson is in various stages of production as a director and producer. "Jones" is about the life of BET cable network legend Dr. Bobby Jones, from a screenplay written by Laura Cayouette of 2012 Quentin Tarantino's "Django Unchained". "The Exceptional Santa Claus", "P31" and the third installment to the LAX film series, "LAX to Rockefeller".
In television, Carl has produced the limited series "Forgiven" for Tubi starring film icon Tuesday Knight from "The Nightmare On Elm Street" film series.
In his early years, Carl Jackson directed several music videos for notable gospel artists such as Angie Winans, Deitrick Haddon, The Rance Allen Group, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, and more. The work of Carl Jackson has been featured in the American WOW gospel music compilation DVD series, in 2003, 2005, and 2009.
On May 30, 2013 "Strong Black Woman" movie trailer became the number 10 most-watched trailer on Apple Trailers, beating out Fast & Furious 6 and the Man of Steel, Superman Trailers, and Will Smith-After Earth Movie Trailers. On September 25th, 2014 "The Journey Of L.A. Mass" was the number 1 most-watched movie trailer on Apple Movie Trailers. "The Journey Of L.A. Mass" was the first documentary directed by Carl Jackson. The "P31" movie trailer also made number 1 and remained in the top 20 family movie trailers even during the pandemic. "LAX 2 Paris and Love Solutions" trailers debuted at number 2 on Apple TV + iTunes.
On Friday, July 19th, 2013, Carl Jackson launched CJC a 24-hour family-themed television network. CJC features movies, original series, concert specials, and more. In 2019 Carl launched an urban network called TheGrid. Both networks are available as an OTA (over-the-air) and OTT (over-the-top). The OTT and connected TV television services that carry both networks are, DistroTV, Freecast PZAZ, TikiLIVE, SimulTV, theGrio, Local Now, PLEX, My Bundle TV, TV Stream, TCL, HISENSE smart TVs, and many other partnerships.
