Carl King is a creator-writer-director of animated TV shows in Los Angeles, CA. His 2019 animated show, The Oracle of Outer Space starred Dweezil Zappa and Jon Schnepp of Metalocalypse. It also featured voice acting by Frank Zappa / Devin Townsend guitarist Mike Keneally. It won two Silver Telly Awards for Writing and Voiceover. In 2020, he created, wrote, and directed the animated TV pilot That Monster Show. It features voice actors Mark Borchardt, LeeAnna Vamp, and Dan Foster. It is animated by Lance Myers (known for his work on Richard Linklater's "A Scanner Darkly"). In the world of live action, he was cinematographer on the 2015 Showtime film "The Death of Superman Lives: What Happened?" directed by Jon Schnepp of Metalocalypse, and starring Tim Burton and Kevin Smith. In 2013 he directed and edited Morgan Ågren's Condundrum: A Percussive Misadventure, with guests Brendon Small of Metalocalypse, Tosin Abasi of Animals as Leaders, and Danny Carey of Tool. He is the author of the book, So, You're A Creative Genius... Now What? which was released in June 2011 by MWP, publishers of The Writer's Journey: Mythic Structure For Writers and Hardware Wars.
