Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia Matt moved to Calgary, Alberta Canada in 1994. Matt worked on his first movie (James Cameron's "Ghost of the Abyss" 2002) in St John"s, Newfoundland. After attending film school at SAIT (Southern Alberta Institute of Technology) and the University of Calgary, Matt started his film career primarily in the regions of Calgary and St. John's.
Since 2023, Matt has been teaching film studies at his alma mater, SAIT. He works in FVP which is part of the SADT (Studies of Advance Digital Technology) department.
Matt is an avid snowboarder, starting at the age of 11. Throughout his 35 plus years riding, Matt has amassed a large collection of vintage snowboards.
