Christian Huey was born in Austin, TX on June 9, 1979 to a schoolteacher and a military nurse. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Radio-TV-Film from UT Austin (1998) and a Master's in journalism/mass communication from Texas State University (2012). He trained in acting for stage at Southwestern University and acting for film at the State Theater, and honed his improv comedy and sketch writing chops at several comedy schools in Austin.
Huey's feature film acting debut was as Zach in Descent (2003), followed by Kyle in the vampire mockumentary Nightlife (2005). He appeared A Walk With Darkness (2009), Henchin' (2023). He played Will in Lucy Kerr's Family Portrait (2023), which garnered accolades on the festival circuits in Europe and North America.
He acted in several independent short films such as "Bedside Manners (2010)," "Love in Five Acts (2013)," "Loose Tooth (2013), "The Direction" (2020)," and "The Michael Bayservatory School of Filmmaking" (2023).
He is active in the Austin theater and improv comedy scenes, having performed in dozens of stage productions, including Bus Stop (2012), Laughter on the 23rd Floor (2016), Hillbilly Hamlet (2021), and You Can't Do That, Dan Moody! (2023). He was a repertory player with Violet Crown Radio Players between 2004 and 2008.
Huey co-hosted and co-produced the podcast Chicken Fried Radio from 2005-2012, as well as All You Ever Think About Is Sparks (2019-present), and voices multiple characters in the sci-fi podcast Argon (2020-present).
Christian is also a cartoonist and musician (bass, keyboard, singing).
