Emrah Yücel is a creative director, specializing in branding and graphic design,
based in Los Angeles, USA. His main focuses are motion picture advertising as well as country and city branding.
He has a master's degree in Art, Design and Architecture from Bilkent University. He began his professional career while as a student by representing his original country Turkey in international exhibitions, poster biennials, following with two "Designer of the Year" awards in the field of graphic design.
In 1996, he moved to New York City where he quickly established himself as a talented designer of corporate brands, posters for Broadway plays, and especially website designs during the infancy of the internet. Through a headhunter, he joined one of Hollywood's powerhouse entertainment advertising agencies and moved to Los Angeles in 1999.
In Seiniger Advertising as a senior art director and creative director he created campaigns for many top feature films for Hollywood's major studio He worked on many big box-office projects such as Random Hearts, Kill Bill, What Women Want, Enemy at the Gates, Big Daddy, The Numbers, Shaft, 28 Days, Vertical Limit etc...
In 2001, he launched 'Iconisus Visual Communication Design' with his partner, an agency providing visual design solutions for motion picture advertising campaigns. Under the name Iconisus Mr. Yucel designed and over seed many prestigious entertainment campaigns for Hollywood studios and TV networks. Such As ; Avatar, American Horror Story, Crimson Peak , Narnia, Fifty Shades Darker, The Girlon the Train, The Americans, The Bridge, Mr. Robot, Mirror Mirror , Frida, A Good Year.... After 18 years of work in Iconisus , he dissolved the company at the end of 2018. And launched a new entity Dreamogram. With the experience of 20 years specifically in Hollywood entertainment he now works with HBO, Netflix, USA network, Warner Brothers and many others.
In 2008 he decided to separate his branding and advertising projects undertake new enterprise I Mean It Creative and continue to offer a vast array of advertising solutions.
He has received many Key-Art Awards, Promax BDA awards, a Webby Award, and a Sunset Billboard Award. In 2009, he have been awarded the "Designer of the Year " title by International Design Awards. Most recently, the United Nations World Tourism Organization has deemed his campaign for Turkish Tourism as the best 'country advertising' in Europe.
Mr Yucel is also giving talks about his profession. The third annual City Nation Place Global conference invited our CEO Emrah Yucel to share his fresh perspective on why and how to engage citizens in place brand strategy.
For World Intellectual Property Day this year, the World Intellectual Property Organization held a discussion on "Innovation in Communication: A State of Mind," with a creator designer, a brand consultant and a writer as the panel. The session was on 25 April, on the eve of World Intellectual Property Day (26 April) at WIPO's headquarters in Geneva.
To honor "the World Intellectual Property Day" our CEO Emrah Yucel gave a presentation at the United Nations Office at Geneva, Switzerland about "Innovation in Communications." His talk was centered around the similarities of place branding and Hollywood movie marketing. Following day he repeated the same speech at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne.
