Tammy Thomas is an American actress/writer and producer, born in Dallas, Tx. on July 7, 1974. Her passion for acting started at the age of 5, in her church's plays and took flight from there. At the age of 8, she was cast in her elementary schools production of Kid's Sing Praises, for the part of Risky Rat, a role originally intended for a boy! She went on to continue acting in other off broadway theatrical productions around the Dallas, Ft. Worth area, including For Colored Girls...(Soul Rep Theater),
The Search For Signs...(Theater Arlington) Death Express (Pegasus Theater) Black Butterfly in Chloroform (Teatro Dallas) and many, many more. As she continued to perform on stage throughout the 90s, her interest in film and television grew, and while working as a tour guide at The Movie Studio's of Las Colinas in Irving Texas, she signed with an agent, and was cast in her first television role on Walker Tx. Ranger. This led to a flood gate of other TV and Independent Film roles, including Wishbone, Americas Dream, Kanaani, and the CBS hit series Prison Break!
In 2000, she graduated from The American Broadcasting School, and 2 weeks shy of graduation, was hired on at Metro Traffic as a news and traffic anchor for various stations across DFW, including K104, 105.7 KRNB, Soul 73 KKDA, 98.7 KLUV, and1080 KRLD.
In 2010, Tammy relocated to Brooklyn, NY and continued to star in both theater and independent films.
In 2012, she moved back home to Dallas, and wrote her first independent film, Paradise House, in which she also starred, and co-executive produced.
Tammy decided to take another leap of faith, and once again, relocate to Atlanta, GA in 2017, where she continues to write, produce, and star in independent films, and television shows of all genre's AND continues her career as a traffic anchor for iHeart Media/Total Traffic Network. She is also the co-owner of EDEWEMESEY Films, and can be heard on KISS 104.1 Atlanta's best R&B every weekday afternoon!
