Sharad Kelkar is an Indian actor who has worked in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Marathi films and several television serials. He is also known for lending his voice to dub Hollywood and South Indian films.
Kelkar completed his degree in physical education and MBA from the Prestige Institute of Management and Research, Gwalior.
After being one of the Grasim Mr India finalists, he made his television debut with the show Aakrosh (2004) on Doordarshan, playing the role of Inspector Sachin Kulkarni. The same year, he made his Bollywood debut with a small role as Dr. "Sattu" Satyendra Mishra in the movie Hulchul (2004).
Kelkar met Keerti Gaekwad Kelkar on the Sinndoor Tere Naam Ka (2007) set. The couple married in 2005 and went on to participate in the dance reality show Nach Baliye 2 in 2006.
He has hosted multiple TV shows like Rock-N-Roll family (2007) and Pati Patni Aur Woh(2009). He then got a major role, playing Thakur Digvijay Singh Bhadoria/Ranveer in Bairi Piya (2009). He won the Gold Award for Best Actor in a Negative Role (Critics) for this role in 2010.
Kelkar appeared as a contestant in Comedy Circus Mahasangram (2010) along with Bharti Singh and Paresh Ganatra. In 2012, he was seen in Sony's Kuch Toh Log Kahenge (2011), in which he played the role of Dr Ashutosh, replacing Mohnish Behl. He also hosted Shaitaan: A Criminal Mind (2012), a crime show, from 2010 to 2013.
In 2012, he played the main lead in the Marathi movie, Chinu. He got another Bollywood offer in 2013, playing the role of Deepika Padukone's elder brother in Đấu Tranh Cho Tình Yêu (2013). His next project was Lai Bhaari (2014), a Marathi film in which he played the role of Sangram, an antagonist. It was received positively, becoming one of the highest-grossing Marathi films at the time.
Kelkar then played the role of Agent Raghav Sinha in Agent Raghav (2015), a mystery thriller, which aired on &TV from 2015-2016. In 2016, he appeared as Raja Bhairon Singh in his Telugu debut Sardaar Gabbar Singh (2016). He was nominated for the SIIMA Award for his role.
In 2017, he played the role of Dhauli, an antagonist, in the film Bhoomi (2017), which also starred Sanjay Dutt. The same year, he acted in the biopic Sangharsh Yatra (2017), based on the Late Gopinath Munde, a renowned BJP politician in Maharashtra.
In 2019, Kelkar delivered memorable performances in movies like Ngôi Nhà Vui Vẻ 4 (2019), where he played the role of Suryabhan/Micheal Bhai with Akshay Kumar and Kriti Sanon. He also played Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in [ink=tt8108274]. He essayed on the role of Laxman Sharma in Laxmii (2020) and Military Officer Ram Karan "RK" Nair in Bhuj: The Pride of India (2021), both of which were released on Disney+Hotstar. In 2022, he appeared as Baji Prabhu Deshpande in Har Har Mahadev in Marathi Har Har Mahadev (2022); the film was released in five languages.
Some of Kelkar's OTT series include The Family Man (2019), which was released on Amazon Prime. He also played the role of Yatin Mehrotra in Black Widows (2020), which was released on Zee5.
As a voice artist, one of his prominent voiceovers was for the movies Bãhubali: The Beginning (2015) and Bãhubali 2: The Conclusion (2017) for Prabhas in Hindi. He was also the narrator and voice of The Legend of Hanuman (2021) in Hindi.
